After several postponements the release date for The Last of Us 2 is finally announced. The role-playing game will be released on June 19, 2020 on PlayStation 4.

They had been working on a multiplayer mode, but due to the extensive work on the singleplayer campaign, this would not have been possible at the same time as the main game. However, they don’t want to discard the developments so far, but release them at some point – but not as part of The Last of Us 2.
After the debut trailer many fans believed that Joel is dead. But the release date reveal trailer of The Last of Us Part II, which was published in September 2019, showed a Joel that was aging but alive. Neil Druckmann told IGN that although the relationship between the two protagonists is tense at the beginning of The Last of Us Part II, Joel will continue to play a very important role.
The Last of Us 2, like its predecessor, is PlayStation exclusive. Although there have been rumours of a PC release, nothing like this has been confirmed by official sources so far.
