What kind of game is Mouse: P.I. For Hire?

Mouse: P.I. For Hire is a cartoon-style first-person shooter set in a dark film noir world. Visually, the game strongly resembles black-and-white cartoons from the 1930s, including hand-drawn rubber hose animations. In the role of mouse detective Jack Pepper, you dive into a single-player campaign filled with corruption, gang crime, and dark secrets.

The style blends Steamboat Willie with the atmosphere of classic noir films like The Maltese Falcon. The city of Mausburg serves as the setting, a dangerous place full of criminal animals, shady alleys, and mysterious locations.

Who is Jack Pepper?

Jack Pepper is a former war veteran and private detective who gets drawn into what seems to be a harmless missing persons case. It quickly turns into a web of kidnapping, corruption, and murder. Pepper is voiced by Troy Baker, one of the most well-known voice actors in the industry. He has also voiced Joel in The Last of Us and Nathan Drake in Uncharted.

How does Mouse: P.I. For Hire play?

The gameplay is inspired by classic boomer shooters, featuring fast-paced action, constant movement, and explosive gunfights. You can expect an arsenal of more than a dozen unique weapons, ranging from classic firearms to crazy cartoon weapons like paint or acid throwers.
