Starting Marisol’s Quest: How “Midpoint to the Endpoint” Begins
Once you’ve recruited Marisol aboard your ship, continue the main story until the destinations Praetor and Cloister become available. Choose Cloister as your next stop, and Marisol will ask to talk. Agree and take her along as your companion.
Follow the quest marker to Anais Bujold, Marisol’s former colleague. Clear out the enemies in front of the building, then head upstairs to the first floor. At the end of the hallway, you’ll find Anais.
Listen to Marisol and Anais’s conversation without interrupting. Anais will eventually ask you to destroy dangerous research data located on Winter’s Grasp.
The Terminal Decision: What to Do with the Research
Inside the facility, you’ll reach a terminal where the research can be wiped. But before you can pull the lever, your conversation is interrupted by a patrol from Auntie’s Choice.
- Agent Pham asks you to spare some of the materials for later recovery.
- Marisol, however, insists on destroying everything.

You’ll now have three dialogue options—to destroy the data completely, almost completely, or partially. But the real turning point comes next.
Choose one of the three dialogue options, then head to the terminal. Pulling the control lever will finalize your choice. Each option directly impacts your reputation with Auntie’s Choice, the quest’s progression, and whether you’ll have to fight your way out.
Option 1: FULL BURN – Burn Everything
For maximum loyalty to Marisol: Choose FULL BURN. You’ll lose reputation but strengthen your bond with her.
- Reputation with Auntie’s Choice drops by 3 points
- Pham turns hostile. As you leave the building, you’ll face about a dozen corporate soldiers—including Pham
- Marisol fully supports your decision
Option 2: NEAR FULL – Destroy Everything Except the “Time-Wasting Contrivances”
For a balanced outcome: Choose NEAR FULL. You’ll earn rewards and stay on good terms with everyone.
- Reputation with Auntie’s Choice increases by 2 points
- Pham later thanks you personally and gives you 650 Bit Cartridges
- Everyone’s satisfied—Marisol and Anais both accept the compromise
Option 3: PARTIAL BURN – Destroy Only the “Cataclysmic Endings”
For maximum reputation gain with Auntie’s Choice: Choose PARTIAL BURN. You’ll avoid confrontation and maximize your faction standing.
- Reputation with Auntie’s Choice increases by 6 points
- Pham rewards you with 2,000 Bits
- Maximum corporate favor; Marisol and Anais still express relief
How “Midpoint to the Endpoint” Ends in The Outer Worlds 2
No matter what you decide, you’ll speak with Pham once more in the lobby afterward. Anais then bids you and Marisol farewell and gives you Marisol’s Mod Kit. You’ll also receive 1,215 XP for completion, another 3,240 XP, and—depending on your choice—either Bits or a reputation change with Auntie’s Choice.
