The opening in particular is pretty rough and can feel overwhelming fast. Starfield really starts to shine once you branch out and take on missions beyond the beaten path. Even so, you should not ignore the main quest in Starfield entirely, since otherwise you’ll miss out on important abilities.

If you want to finish every mission in the main quest, plan for around 30 hours. Depending on your playstyle, your total time can easily end up being longer. Starfield has also been available on PlayStation 5 since April 7, 2026.
