The “Stories Untold” update for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is here, expanding the game with a brand-new story campaign, fresh locations, and unfamiliar faces. Here are all the details.
GSC Game World has released the free “Stories Untold” content update for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The update adds a new questline, additional locations, new characters, and fresh gear to the game.
At the center of the story is a mysterious signal near Malachite that disrupts communication and causes disturbing symptoms among stalkers. Headaches, nosebleeds, and hallucinations spread as a distress call echoes across the Zone. You set out to uncover the origin of the signal and are drawn into a multi-hour questline filled with difficult decisions, where every choice can have noticeable consequences.
New Locations and Familiar Areas
As the story unfolds, you will explore both new and revitalized locations within the Zone. Newly added areas include the Fairy Tale Pioneer Camp and the Old Mine in the Red Forest. At the same time, the narrative takes you back to well-known places such as the Car Dump, the Army Warehouses, the City Boiler Room, the Rail Depot near Malachite, and the Volkhov SAM Facility. Depending on your decisions, entirely unexplored areas may also become accessible.
New Characters and Equipment
During your journey, you will encounter new characters with their own backgrounds and motivations, all tied to the mystery of the signal. Alongside them comes new equipment. The GP37V2 introduces a tactical variant of the well-known GP37 rifle, featuring a suppressor, scope, and a firing mode limited to single shots and burst fire.
New Hub as a Possible Consequence
Your decisions can even permanently change the Zone. Under certain conditions, a new hub emerges in the sparsely populated Burnt Forest. There you will find a technician, trader, medic, a resting area, and your personal stash, creating an important new point of interest in the game.
Major Patch 1.5 Already Delivered Numerous Improvements
Alongside the “Stories Untold” update, Stalker 2 recently received the extensive Patch 1.5. This update introduced two new weapons, including the lightweight bolt-action “Three-Line Rifle” for snipers and the hard-hitting “Kora Pistol,” which also comes in a rare “Night Stalker” variant for collectors.
One standout feature is the official “Zone Kit” modding tool. It allows players to create new animations, weapons, gameplay mechanics, and anomalies, then share them via platforms such as mod.io or the Steam Workshop. The loot system has also been expanded, with mutants now dropping valuable body parts.
