Purify it or leave it cursed? Here’s how to change the Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f and unlock alternate endings.
In Silent Hill f, the Sacred Sword is an optional but significant gameplay element in New Game Plus mode. It’s not only one of the most powerful weapons in the game, it’s also key to two of the alternate endings. In this walkthrough, we’ll take you step by step through finding all five Jizo statues, securing the required items, obtaining the Sacred Sword, and purifying it if needed.
The Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f: Requirements and Key Details
The Sacred Sword is a unique weapon you can only obtain in New Game+. Only then will all Jizo statues and offerings around Ebisugaoka become accessible, which you need in order to unlock the sword. It occupies its own fourth slot in your inventory, and, while uncleansed, it cannot break — unlike most other weapons in the game.
What makes the Sacred Sword special:
- Has its own dedicated weapon slot
- Can’t be discarded or destroyed
- Auto-repairs during combat (when uncleansed)
- Must be purified for certain endings
- Unique animations and long reach
Silent Hill f: How to Find Every Jizo Statue and Its Offering
Once you start a New Game+, you can find five research journals. Each one points to the location of a Jizo statue. Interact with a statue, and Hinako will receive a vision that guides you to the matching offering. Bring that item back to the statue to complete each step of the Sacred Sword quest.
First Jizo Statue & Faded Bride Doll
- Offering: Faded Bride Doll
- Where to find it: Right at the start, in a house southeast of Hinako’s starting point that only opens in New Game+. The Bride Doll is in a locked kitchen box; the key is upstairs.
- Statue: Follow the road downhill from the house until you reach a home with a red mailbox. The statue is across the street.

Second Jizo Statue & Rusted Flask
- Offering: Rusted Flask
- Where to find it: On the way to Rinko’s house, the main road splits just before the fields. To the north is the Sennensugi Shrine, where you’ll find the flask.
- Statue: At the fork in the road inside the construction yard north of the rice fields, in a clearing behind the site.

Third Jizo Statue & Broken Japanese Geta Sandals
- Offering: Broken Japanese Geta Sandals
- Where to find it: Just before the middle school at a small construction site near the Hokora (save shrine).
- Statue: Circle around the site and take the stairs by the Hokora. The statue is beside a large house.
- Important: Once you enter the school, the statue is no longer accessible.

Fourth Jizo Statue & Cracked Hibachi Brazier
- Offering: Cracked Hibachi Brazier
- Where to find it: Next to the small wooden shed behind Shu’s house.
- Statue: You’ll reach it as you exit the fog area in Sugisato, by the Sakuko Shrine.

Fifth Jizo Statue & Dad’s Old Kitchen Knife
- Offering: Dad’s Old Kitchen Knife
- Where to find it: On the path from Shu’s house to the Shimizu estate. The knife is stuck in a tree behind a house on the slope.
- Statue: Next to a bench in front of the second house between Shu’s home and Ebisugaoka.
- Tip: You can complete this step up until just before entering the Shimizu estate.

How to obtain the Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f
After placing all five offerings at their Jizo statues, return to the Divine Tree southwest of Shu’s house. The Sacred Sword will appear automatically at the base of the tree. A cutscene will play in which Hinako claims the sword.
- Note: In a second New Game Plus run, you no longer need to place the offerings. Instead, the sword appears at the second Jizo statue.
Purifying the Sacred Sword: How it works
To purify the Sacred Sword, you must have already experienced the first and either the second or third ending in Silent Hill f. Only then will the optional Scarlet Water puzzle appear in the Dark Shrine when Hanako undergoes the rituals. After that, you can dip the sword into the basin at the Sennensugi Shrine near the Thousand-Year Cedar.
- Warning: Purification is irreversible and changes how the sword behaves. Once purified, it’s no longer indestructible, though you can still repair it with toolkits. Its weapon class also changes from “heavy” to “light.” If you purified the sword in the previous run, it will be cursed again in the next.
Which endings the Sacred Sword can unlock
The Sacred Sword matters for two of the five endings in Silent Hill f:
- 3rd ending: Keep the sword uncleansed.
- 4th ending: Purify the sword and offer the brooch at a Jizo statue.
