To get through the Orphanage in Resident Evil Requiem, you need to pay attention to a few key things. We’ll show you how to survive this section.

In the Orphanage section of Resident Evil Requiem, you switch from Grace and Leon to Chloe. During this segment, you have no weapons and no way to fight back. Only awareness, timing, and the correct route determine whether you survive. The entire sequence plays out like a stealth section with clear trigger points. Here, you’ll learn step by step how to get through safely without missing anything important.

First encounter with the children

You control Chloe in a flashback. After gaining control in the room, leave and head down the hallway to the slightly open door. This triggers a cutscene where several creepy children with glowing eyes appear.

As soon as you regain control, immediately turn around, run back into the bedroom, and hide under the bed. The children will rush in and start hitting the beds. Stay completely still. After a short time, they will leave the room again.

Move through the room to the entrance hall

Wait until everything is quiet before leaving. Return to the room with the dead scientist, then continue through the building past the toys. A staircase leads you down into a larger area with more toys, a counter, and a locked door.

You’ll hear glass breaking, a sign that the children are nearby again. To the right of the counter is a table you can hide under. Crawl underneath and wait. The children will enter and search the room. One of them will open the locked door. Once they leave, crawl out and go through it.

Get past the hallway and reach the Director’s Office

Follow the hallway carefully. At the second corner, the children are waiting. If they see you, it’s game over. Let them spot you briefly if needed, then run back and hide under the table again. This resets their position and clears the hallway.

Get the Hatch Key in the Director’s Office

Inside the office, turn on the desk lamp. Then pull out the drawer and use it to climb up. On the wall, you’ll find the Hatch Key.

After grabbing it, immediately hide behind the white boxes in the corner. The children will enter the room but leave again after a short time. Stay crouched and wait until it’s completely quiet.

Then use the key on the floor hatch and climb down. Follow the linear path through the tunnels until you reach the Underground Chapel.

Solve the chapel puzzle and escape

Go behind the altar to reveal a hidden ladder, but it’s too high to reach. Pull the lever in the room to open a side door leading to coffins.
