To build the detonator in Resident Evil Requiem, you’ll need the Signal Receiver among other parts. We’ll show you where to find it.
After collecting the Distributor for the detonator, your next objective in Resident Evil Requiem takes you upward. The Signal Receiver is located on the roof of the Cedarbrook Apartments. However, reaching it is anything but easy. Several military zombies and mortar operators guard the building, turning the climb into a real challenge.
In this guide, we’ll walk you step by step through how to enter the apartment building, obtain the crank, and fight your way up to the Signal Receiver on the rooftop.
The Signal Receiver on the rooftop
In the eastern part of East Raccoon City, the Cedarbrook Apartments rise above the ruins. From a distance, you can already spot a blinking red light on the rooftop. After collecting the Distributor, you may have already seen this light through binoculars. That’s exactly where one of the required detonator parts is located.
Before you can reach the receiver, you’ll need to fight your way through the building and clear the path to the rooftop. Several challenges await you:
• Find access to the building
• Obtain the missing crank
• Defeat armored military zombies
• Eliminate mortar operators on the rooftop
Make sure you’re well prepared. Bring enough ammo, healing items, and ideally a strong weapon like a shotgun or rifle.
Access the Cedarbrook Apartments
From the Central Camp, cross the bridge to the east. Near a container with fallen soldiers, you’ll find an open door leading directly into the ground floor of the Cedarbrook Apartments.
Inside, take a moment to search the area. Behind the stairs, you’ll find a green herb and a large crate with ammo. Under the stairs on the right, a short corridor leads to a locked door. Open it to unlock a shortcut back to the camp area. Then return and head upstairs to the first floor.
Find the missing crank
On the first floor, you’ll reach a balcony. To the right, a locked gate blocks your path because a crank is missing. Go back inside through the open door on the right.

Shortly after, several military zombies will attack. These enemies are tougher than regular undead and may carry weapons or grenades.
• Aim for the head
• Keep your distance from armed enemies
• Avoid getting surrounded
Then drop down one level inside the building. You’ll find a door with a crank attached. Open it to obtain the Rusty Crank.
Return to the balcony and use the crank on the locked gate. This opens the way forward. Behind it, a ladder leads to the rooftops.
Prepare for the rooftop fight
On the lower rooftops, you’ll encounter a few zombies and find resources like crates and ammo cases. Use this time to prepare. You’ll also see a glass roof with a hanging case. Shoot it so you can collect it later.

The higher you go, the more dangerous it gets. On the upper rooftops, you’ll face zombies operating mortars that bombard you from a distance. Keep moving to avoid getting hit.
Take out the first mortar operator
The first mortar enemy is positioned on a higher rooftop. Wait for the shot, then use the short window afterward to land precise hits. Timing is key here.
More mortar enemies on the rooftops
As you continue, another mortar operator will attack from a distance. Listen for incoming shots and move immediately or take cover.
Helpful tips:
• Use cover
• Clear regular zombies first
• Advance slowly
After defeating the final mortar enemy, you can use the mortar yourself to clear remaining threats.

Secure the Signal Receiver
Once the rooftop is clear, head to the northwestern corner. Near a communication tower, you’ll find a yellow crate. Inside is the Broken Signal Receiver, one of the three detonator parts. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}

If you already picked up the Repair Kit from the BSAA container, you can fix the receiver in your inventory and combine it with the other parts. Otherwise, return to the camp and retrieve it first.
