The horror adventure Reanimal releases in just a few days. We’ve gathered all the information about a possible preload for you.
With Reanimal, a dark horror adventure from Tarsier Studios and THQ Nordic awaits you. In this guide, you’ll find out when the game releases, whether there will be a preload, and which technical requirements you need to meet.
Reanimal Release: When Does the Game Launch?
Reanimal launches on February 13, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. The game comes from the same developers who previously delivered chills with Little Nightmares. This time, you step into the roles of a sibling duo fighting for survival in a nightmarish version of their own home.
The focus is on stealth gameplay, puzzles, and cinematic platforming. Your goal is to escape together and rescue three missing friends while exploring mysterious islands and avoiding terrifying creatures.
Is There a Preload for Reanimal?
According to official statements from the developers, no general preload will be offered. This information comes from a FAQ on Steam. The download size of around 20 GB was considered “reasonable,” which is why a mandatory early download was not implemented.
However, PlayStation players report that digital pre-orders on PS5 can begin downloading starting February 11, 2026, according to the store page. This preload already includes version 01.000.003 with a file size of approximately 11.3 GB, which is significantly larger than its predecessor Little Nightmares 2.
Whether other platforms will also allow early downloads has not yet been officially confirmed. Buyers of physical editions should expect a possible day-one update.
