With Reanimal, developer Tarsier Studios returns with a dark co-op horror game that is stylistically reminiscent of Little Nightmares. But how many hours of gameplay does the new adventure offer? We give you an overview of the estimated playtime for Reanimal.

Reanimal playtime: How many hours you should expect

There is a official statement on Steam already. Since the game comes from the same developers who were responsible for Little Nightmares 1, 2 and 3, the approximate length can be estimated quite well. The structure of Reanimal, with a linear narrative, strong atmospheric focus and a fixed camera system, is also very similar to its predecessors.

Depending on your playstyle and desire to explore, you can expect the following playtimes:

  • Main story: If you focus on the main plot and skip optional areas, the playtime should be around 6 to 7 hours. This roughly matches the scope of the Little Nightmares games.
  • 100 percent completion: If you want to explore all optional areas, solve every puzzle and unlock all achievements, you should plan for up to 10 hours.

What can you expect in Reanimal?

In Reanimal, you control two orphans who must face their fears on a nightmarish island. The story is told through environments, encounters and puzzles, with very few words. The game is divided into three main areas, each centered around rescuing a missing friend. In between, you travel by boat and can explore optional locations.

You can play solo with an AI companion or in co-op, locally or online, including crossplay. A Friend’s Pass is planned, allowing you to play together even if only one person owns the game. There is no combat. Instead, the focus is on stealth, hiding and escape sequences. The gameplay is complemented by physics-based puzzles that require teamwork.

Reanimal launches on February 13, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. A free demo is already available.
