FACTS

The Pokémon-like open-world survival game Palworld has received a wide range of new features and improvements with update 0.7 “Home Sweet Home.” One of the highlights is a collaboration with the first-person shooter Ultrakill. Players can now use weapons and armor from Ultrakill, including V1’s infamous coin toss mechanic.

Improved building system

The building system has also been expanded. Players now have access to additional building pieces such as triangular elements and can change the color of structures. The build menu has been reworked into a clearer list, making it easier and more intuitive to select structures and parts.

Dedicated raid areas

Another new feature is the introduction of dedicated “raid areas.” When summoning a raid boss at the summoning altar, players can now choose whether to fight at their own base or in a special raid area. These areas allow temporary structures to be built without putting your main base at risk. A new raid boss is also available.

The melee combat system has been reworked to make it more useful and enjoyable in the later stages of the game. Swords, katanas, and beam swords now feature new basic attacks and special moves. Further improvements to melee combat are already planned for the future.

Steam Workshop for mods

The update also introduces Steam Workshop support for Palworld. Mods can now be discovered and tested much more easily. However, mods are not allowed on certain servers, including the official ones, to ensure fair play. As a result, mods are mainly recommended for single-player or co-op sessions with friends.

CONTEXT

Palworld stands out with its cute look and extensive gameplay options

Since its early access launch, Palworld has continued to generate discussion well beyond its gameplay. The developers keep you up to date with regular updates, deliver new content, and clearly respond to feedback from the community.

The legal dispute with Nintendo also remains a topic, with brief and factual updates shared from time to time. So far, however, it has had no noticeable impact on the ongoing development of the game.

In-game, several raid bosses are already waiting for you. At the moment, three major raid encounters are available, offering a real challenge in the endgame and requiring coordinated teamwork.
