FACTS

The long-awaited action RPG Lost Soul Aside has been available since August 29 for PC and PlayStation 5. However, the launch hasn’t been completely smooth. Many players are reporting performance issues that are impacting the fun.

On Steam, reviews currently sit at “Mixed.” Some users mention constant stuttering and frame drops. Crashes and clunky camera movement have also been criticized.

The development team has since responded. In a brief statement on Steam, the studio said it is investigating the issues: “The dev team is urgently investigating the performance issues some players are experiencing. A fix will be identified and deployed via an update patch very soon – please stay tuned.”

But there are also many positive reactions. Plenty of players are praising Lost Soul Aside, even comparing it to genre giants like Final Fantasy. The dynamic combat system and gripping story are receiving particular praise.

CONTEXT

Lost Soul Aside: All Info on Release, Story, and System Requirements

Lost Soul Aside has undergone a long development journey. What began in 2016 as a one-man project by Yang Bing has now become a full-scale action RPG. Players take on the role of Kaser, who is searching for his missing sister Louisa. But the rescue mission soon turns into a battle for humanity’s survival against the soul-stealing Voidrax.

The gameplay focuses on fast-paced combat with combos, dodges, and unlockable special abilities. In addition, there are challenging puzzles and a varied world to explore. For the best possible graphics on PC, however, fairly demanding system requirements are needed.
