Little Nightmares 3 is right around the corner and, for the first time, introduces a co-op mode to the series’ dark universe. In this guide, you’ll find everything you need to know about the preload, the official release date, and how much storage space to set aside on your platform.

When does Little Nightmares 3 release?

Little Nightmares 3 launches on October 10, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Bandai Namco had originally planned to release the game in 2024 but postponed it to allow for additional polish.

This time, the spotlight is on the two children Low and Alone. Together, they are trapped in the so-called Spiral – a nightmarish world full of illusions, distorted places, and childhood fears. To escape, they must work together – either in online co-op or, if you play solo, with AI support.

When does the Little Nightmares 3 preload begin?

According to the PlayStation Game Size X channel, the preload for Little Nightmares 3 begins on October 8, 2025 – two days before the official launch. You can download the game to your console or PC starting then, but you won’t be able to play until October 10.

The preload is available on all platforms the game releases on. That way, nothing should stand in the way of a smooth start – as long as your internet connection keeps up.

How big is the Little Nightmares 3 download?

Little Nightmares 3 is on the lighter side when it comes to file size. On PlayStation, you’ll need around 16 GB of storage space, according to PlayStation Game Size. On Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC, the download comes in at about 15 GB. On PC, the final installation size may vary slightly and end up a bit larger. A large day-one patch hasn’t been announced so far, but as with many games, it can’t be ruled out.

What is Little Nightmares 3 about?

In Little Nightmares 3, you follow Low and Alone as they try to escape the “Nowhere.” This surreal world is made up of unsettling locations – including a desert, an abandoned amusement park, and a giant monster baby that already hunts you in the demo.

The story unfolds in classic Little Nightmares style, with no spoken dialogue but striking visuals and an oppressive atmosphere. Your goal is to solve puzzles and dodge threats skillfully to find a path to freedom.
