In this puzzle guide for Little Nightmares 3, we explain how to open the locked trapdoor in Necropolis.
In Little Nightmares 3, eerie puzzles and unsettling locations await once again. One of these mysterious places is Necropolis, where you’ll come across a strange trapdoor blocking your path to the next area. This step-by-step walkthrough shows you exactly how to solve the puzzle and open the trapdoor — whether you’re playing solo or in co-op mode.
How to reach the trapdoor in Necropolis
Shortly after you spot the first signs of the giant baby, you’ll get the umbrella. Use it to ride the air current upward, then take the long cable car back down. You’ll arrive at a platform with three small spools and a weaving wheel. Tear off the wooden plank blocking the boarded-up passage together to enter the room with the trapdoor.

In the background, you’ll see three woven baskets, and at the center of the room lies the trapdoor. There’s not much else here. When you step onto the trapdoor, you’ll notice it gives slightly under your weight. To open it, you need to move Low and Alone onto the trapdoor together.

Now both characters must jump into the air at the same time and land on the trapdoor to make it collapse. In Little Nightmares 3’s co-op mode, that’s easy enough — but if you’re playing solo, it may take a few tries to get the AI partner to match your jump rhythm.
Jump a few times so your partner starts copying you. Then wait until they begin hopping on their own and sync your jumps with theirs. After landing together three times in a row, the trapdoor will give way, opening the path to the next area.
