In Life is Strange: Reunion, you’ll have to make a difficult decision with Chloe to unlock one of both endings. We’ll tell you what consequences to expect.
At the end of Life is Strange: Reunion, the final scene features an extended sequence with Chloe. The setting is a bar where Chloe is performing with her band. Between conversations and memories, she discovers a letter from Moses on a small table. Inside is a familiar photo of Max, the exact picture Max once used to travel back in time before the fire broke out.
At this point, you face a key decision: do you give the photo to Max or burn it? Your choice determines which ending you unlock. Here’s what happens depending on your decision.
- Important: This article contains major spoilers, including both endings and the future of Max and Chloe.
Option 1: Give Max the Photo
If you decide to give Max the photo, she shows up at the door shortly afterward. She immediately senses that something is off and reacts with visible surprise when Chloe hands her the picture.
The conversation that follows focuses on the meaning of the photo and the possibility of interfering with the past once again. Max makes it clear that her relationship with Chloe comes first.

Even so, the decision isn’t without doubt. The photo remains and continues to symbolize the option to change everything. As she leaves the room, Max casts one last thoughtful glance at the image. In the end, the two walk out together. However, the following photos suggest that while they initially share a future, Max is once again seen standing in front of the university, seemingly having traveled back in time.
Option 2: Burn the Photo
If you choose to burn the photo, Life is Strange: Reunion opts for a more definitive conclusion. Chloe sets the picture on fire and watches as it slowly burns. Once only charred remains are left, she throws them away.
Here as well, Max is already at the door and senses that something has changed. Chloe tells her that she no longer wants to take anything for granted and is ready to fight for their shared future without any safety nets or fallback options. Max agrees.

They leave the room together. Unlike the other option, the past is definitively closed off here. There’s no going back, at least not through this photo. The final images show Max and Chloe traveling to Arcadia Bay together.
