Hell is Us is just around the corner: here’s everything you need to know about the preload for consoles and PC.
The third-person adventure Hell is Us from Rogue Factor focuses on exploration, close combat, and a mysterious storyline. Here’s a breakdown of the key preload dates, file sizes, and hardware requirements.
Hell is Us Release: When does the game launch?
Hell is Us launches on September 4, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. You’ll step into the shoes of Rémi, who is searching for his origins in a war-torn country. This isolated nation isn’t only plagued by political conflict—it’s also haunted by eerie creatures resembling ancient tombstones roaming the land.
To face them, Rémi has access to specially forged weapons. The game deliberately skips waypoints and helper systems, relying instead on player-driven exploration.
When does the Hell is Us preload start?
To make sure you’re ready at launch, Hell is Us offers a staggered preload:
- Owners of the Deluxe Edition can start preloading on August 30, 2025, and also get 72 hours of early access, allowing them to play from September 1, 2025.
- The Standard Edition preload becomes available on September 2, 2025.
- Preload is available on all platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Exact preload times haven’t been confirmed yet, but current expectations point to 8 am GMT.
Hell is Us: Download size on PC, PS5, and Xbox
The Hell is Us download comes in at a moderate 20 to 21 GB. A day-one patch could increase the size slightly, though nothing has been confirmed yet.
- Download size on PC via Steam: 22.49 GB
- Download size on PS5: 21.586 GB
- Download size on Xbox: tba (likely similar to the PS5 version)
If you have a slow connection or want to avoid overloaded servers on launch day, preloading is strongly recommended. As long as your system settings allow automatic updates, the download can begin running quietly in the background.
