In Ghost of Yotei, you can use a variety of weapons. We’ll explain where to find them and what they’re best suited for.
In Ghost of Yotei, you can equip Atsu with a total of 15 weapons – from traditional katanas to rapid-fire guns. Since you only start with your Wolf Blade, it’s worth taking a closer look at where to find the others and how to use them effectively. Here’s a compact overview of how to unlock every weapon and when to use it best.
- Note: Once you’ve found all melee and rapid-fire weapons, you’ll unlock two trophies.
General Tips for Weapons in Ghost of Yotei
Before you start searching: weapons in Ghost of Yotei have clear strengths and weaknesses – similar to a tactical triangle system. Combining them cleverly lets you take down almost any group of enemies. You can upgrade melee weapons at Atsu’s father’s forge, while ranged and rapid-fire weapons are improved via merchants or quests. Some upgrade materials are only available in specific regions, so it’s worth revisiting older areas once you’ve unlocked new abilities.
- Note: How quickly you defeat enemies also depends on your chosen difficulty level. We’ve explained each difficulty level in Ghost of Yotei in more detail.
Upgrading Weapons in Ghost of Yotei
To upgrade your melee weapons, you can visit Atsu’s father’s old forge at any time. You’ll first need to collect materials scattered throughout the world and during missions. Some of these resources, however, can only be found in certain regions:
- Oni Raider Mask Pieces – Found in the Ishikari Plains
- Shinobi Steel – Found in the Teshio Ridge
- Weapon Parts – Found along the Oshima Coast
Ranged and rapid-fire weapons, on the other hand, can simply be upgraded through merchants.
