Once Atsu completes the story of the Yotei Six in Ghost of Yotei, there’s still plenty left to explore across Ezo. That’s when the question arises: is there a New Game+ mode, and what’s left to do after the credits roll? Here’s everything you need to know about post-game content and what to expect.

Is There a New Game+ Mode?

At this point, Ghost of Yotei does not include a New Game+ mode. Once you’ve completed the main story, there’s no option to start a new playthrough while keeping your gear or learned techniques. Instead, the game places you back before the final sequence, allowing you to freely roam Ezo and complete any side quests, activities, or challenges you might have missed. In other words, you can continue exploring your existing world, just without the traditional New Game+ mechanics.

Developer Sucker Punch has not yet confirmed any plans for such a mode. However, since Ghost of Tsushima received a similar feature via a post-launch update several months after release, it’s possible that Ghost of Yotei could follow the same path — potentially sometime in 2026.

What Happens After the Credits?

After finishing the main story, you’re placed back into the open world. From there, you can complete unfinished quests, discover new locations, and expand your arsenal. The game marks uncompleted missions and activities, making it easy to keep track. You can also continue freeing enemy camps, finding animals, and increasing your reputation through additional achievements.

  • Tip: If you’re a trophy hunter, it’s worth completing all remaining side quests in Ezo to wrap up any outstanding challenges.

Basically, you keep playing in your existing world — just without the pressure of following the main storyline. It’s a good opportunity to take your time, explore at your own pace, and enjoy details you might have missed during your first playthrough.

What Are the Chances of a Future Update?

Even though there’s no official timeline, there’s a good chance Ghost of Yotei will receive post-launch updates with new features. In the previous game, extra modes and New Game+ arrived several months after release — so the same could happen here as well.

A future update could include expanded customization options, new challenges, or exclusive gear to make a second playthrough even more rewarding.
