How long you stay in the world of Sanctuary depends heavily on how much you want to get out of the game. We have summed up the most important Diablo 4 playtime numbers for you, from the main campaign all the way to reaching the maximum level in Diablo 4.

Campaign Playtime: How Long the Main Story Takes

Diablo 4 features a large campaign split into six acts. The first three acts can be completed in any order, followed by a fixed sequence leading to the finale. Depending on difficulty and playstyle, the playtime can vary noticeably:

  • Difficulty “Easy”: If you focus only on the main story, you can expect around 15 to 20 hours.
  • Difficulty “Normal”: The increased challenge pushes the playtime to about 23 to 28 hours. From Act 6 onward, skipping side quests makes the game noticeably tougher, as enemy levels rise.

The individual acts also differ in length. Act 4 takes roughly one hour, while Acts 1, 2, 3 and 5 usually last around 3 to 5 hours each. The finale in Act 6 can be completed in about 1 to 2 hours.

Side Quests, Dungeons and More: How Long a Full Run Takes

If you want to experience more than just the main story, you should plan for significantly more time. Diablo 4 offers plenty of optional content, including:

  • Over 100 side quests
  • 115 dungeons
  • 160 Altars of Lilith
  • Numerous strongholds, world events and hidden locations

A playthrough that combines the story, side quests and exploration usually takes around 30 to 50 hours, depending on your playstyle. Your chosen World Tier, class and overall experience also have a big impact on total playtime.

Endgame and Level 100: How Long It Takes to Reach Max Level

For many players, Diablo 4 truly begins after finishing the campaign. From level 50 onward, the endgame opens up with new challenges, tougher enemies and better rewards.

According to Blizzard, it takes at least 150 hours on average to reach level 100. This should be seen as a minimum estimate. If you do not play for several hours every day, it will likely take much longer. On higher World Tiers, the difficulty increases noticeably and leveling slows down accordingly. If you also want to unlock all achievements and trophies in Diablo 4, you should expect around 180 to 200 hours of total playtime.

  • With the two expansions “Vessel of Hatred” and “Lord of Hatred“, the overall playtime increases even further.

Diablo 4 Playtime Summary

Diablo 4 offers a wide range of playtime for both casual players and hardcore fans:

  • Main story only: around 20 to 27 hours on average
  • Full playthrough with side quests: around 30 to 50 hours
  • Level 100 and full endgame: at least 150 hours

Whether you want to beat Diablo 4 once or spend months experimenting with builds, dungeons and endgame content, the overall scope gives you plenty of freedom in how long you play.
