Borderlands 4 also brings back Shift Codes, rewarding you with valuable bonuses. Here’s what you can claim this month.
If you played Borderlands 3, you’ll already know them: Shift Codes. They return in Borderlands 4 and once again offer plenty of rewards – from Golden Keys and cosmetic skins to exclusive items. In this guide, you’ll learn what Shift Codes are, how to redeem them, and which ones are currently active.
What Are Shift Codes?
Shift Codes are promo codes released by Gearbox that can be redeemed either in-game or via the official SHiFT website. They usually grant you:
- Golden Keys → Unlock special chests packed with legendary loot.
- Cosmetic Items → Skins, heads, or weapon designs.
- Bonus Content → Sometimes full bundles with items or ammo.
Most codes are time-limited, so it pays to redeem them quickly after they’re released.

First Reward Without a Code
Even before you redeem a classic Shift Code, you can unlock a free weapon skin:
- Sign up for the 2K and Gearbox newsletter.
- Log in on the official SHiFT website (or create a new account).
- Link your platform account (Steam, PlayStation, Xbox).
- Enable newsletter & marketing emails.
As a thank you, you’ll receive the exclusive “Hazard Pay” weapon skin directly in-game.
