Starfield: Can you use cheats on Xbox?
You can only use cheats on Xbox with a workaround—and only if you also have a PC. You’ll need the Play Anywhere version of Starfield, which is available through the Microsoft Store.
First, launch Starfield on PC, activate the cheats you want, and save your game. Then switch to your Xbox and load that save file. The cheat effects will carry over to your Xbox playthrough.
- Note: This workaround isn’t guaranteed to work for everyone. Some players report success, while others don’t. You can find more details on Reddit.
How to use cheats in Starfield on PC
To use cheats in Starfield, all you need to do is open the console while playing. You don’t need mods, trainers, or any edits to config files.
- Open the console: Load any save and press the tilde (~) key on your keyboard once you’re in the game world.
- Enter the cheat code: Choose a code from the lists below (along with the correct item or skill ID if needed) and type it into the console. Press Enter to activate it. Case sensitivity doesn’t matter.
- Note: Activating cheats disables achievements for your current save. You won’t be able to unlock any more achievements with that character.
What are item IDs & skill IDs—and how do you find them?
Some cheats require an item ID or skill ID. You can’t just type the name of the item or ability. You’ll either find these IDs in our interactive table below or use a console command to look them up.
Finding IDs with a console command
There’s a built-in cheat to find item IDs. Open the console as described above, type “help”, then add the name of the item after a space.
Example: If you’re looking for the item ID of the “Urban Eagle” pistol, use the command: help urban eagle
How to correctly use cheats with IDs
To spawn or add an item, enter one of the following commands (without brackets, but with spaces): player.placeatme [Item ID] [Quantity] or player.additem [Item ID] [Quantity].
To unlock a skill, type player.addperk [Skill ID]. To remove a skill, use player.removeperk [Skill ID].
- Note: When entering item IDs, you can omit the first two zeros. For example, instead of 0026D96D, just type 26D96D.
List of all important item IDs & skill IDs
In the interactive table below, you’ll find some of the most important item IDs and skill IDs. Use the search function to quickly locate specific items or filter by category.
How to use the interactive table: Enter the name of the item or skill in the search bar, and use filters to sort by type. Click the small arrow on the right to view all details for each entry.
Starfield: All 55 cheat codes in an interactive table
Our interactive table includes over 50 of the best cheats for Starfield. When entering them, remember that—as explained above—you’ll need the correct ID when adding items or skills.
If you see terms in square brackets, they’re placeholders for a number value or an item ID. Do not type the brackets themselves.
How to use the interactive table: Enter the name of the cheat or its function (e.g., “godmode” or “invincibility”) in the search bar.
