Pokémon’s success sends Nintendo stock higher, new game releases are lining up for March, and the Future Games Show delivers 40 new trailers: here’s a quick look at the day’s biggest gaming stories.
A surprise Pokémon hit has given Nintendo’s market value a major boost, while the next big showcase event is already waiting in the wings just one day after the Future Games Show. At the same time, several notable releases are still set to arrive in March.
Future Games Show Reveals More Than 40 Upcoming Games
As part of GDC, the Future Games Show Spring Showcase aired with more than 40 upcoming titles, including new trailers and presentations for games such as Directive 8020 — the upcoming sci-fi horror game from Supermassive Games — Life is Strange: Reunion, and a wide range of promising indie projects. Alongside new trailers, the show also featured gameplay footage and developer interviews.
The next major event is already just around the corner: Summer Game Fest 2026 kicks off on June 5 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The main opening show will be streamed worldwide and accompanied by several community events. The “Play Days,” where media outlets get hands-on time with new games, are also expected to return.
Monster Hunter Stories 3 Launches on PC and Consoles
If you’ve already wrapped up Monster Hunter: Wilds, more is on the way: Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, a new entry in Capcom’s popular series, has officially launched. The RPG once again focuses on turn-based combat and collecting monsters. One of the key new features is an expanded ecosystem that puts greater emphasis on each creature’s habitat.
A Packed Release Month for New Games
March remains a stacked month for new game releases. After the beginning of the month was defined by Resident Evil Requiem, Slay the Spire 2, and Marathon, the coming weeks will bring Monster Hunter Stories 3 as well as titles including WWE 2K26, MLB The Show 26, Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War, the PC version of Death Stranding 2, the epic open-world adventure Crimson Desert, Life Is Strange: Reunion, and Legacy of Kain: Ascendance. That keeps gaming’s strong start to 2026 rolling.
Pokémon Success Sends Nintendo Stock Higher
The new game Pokémon Pokopia is shaping up to be a surprise hit for Nintendo. In just four days, it sold more than 2.2 million units. That strong launch added roughly $17.9 billion to the company’s market value and has put fresh attention on the Pokémon brand after several more middling recent entries.
