Without the keycard, you won’t be able to progress in the Rhodes Hill Medical Center in Resident Evil Requiem. The East Wing with its patient rooms remains locked, and that’s exactly where the next story section awaits. If you’re wondering where to find the keycard and which items you’ll need, we’ll guide you step by step in the right direction.

  • Guide Tip: Looking for help with every question and solution? In our ultimate guide, you’ll find tips on weapons, locations and more.

Step 1: The Red Jewel in the Chairman’s Office

Before you even think about the keycard, you’ll need the correct item for a locked door on the ground floor. Head to the Chairman’s Office in the administration area. There, you’ll find the red jewel inside a small box placed on a dresser directly to the left of the door. Rotate the box and press on the back panel to open it.

On your way here, you likely passed a door with a conspicuously large socket. The red jewel is required to open that door. Important notes regarding the jewel:

  • Make sure your inventory isn’t full.
  • Inspect items carefully, some only reveal their true purpose when rotated.

After picking up the red jewel, continue exploring the floor. You’ll find healing items, ammunition and your first locked cabinet that requires a specific combination. Only after that should you head back downstairs.

Step 2: Back to the Ground Floor, Watch Out for the Chef

Your destination is the area near the kitchen, where you previously encountered the chef. This time, however, he won’t stay confined to his usual territory.

  • The chef now patrols the hallways.
  • Stay crouched, avoid making noise and use hiding spots.
  • An open fight will only cost you valuable resources.

Sneak toward the door with the large socket next to the kitchen. Insert the red jewel and the path to the next area will open.

Step 3: The Lounge and a Grim Discovery

Behind the unlocked door, you’ll find the lounge. Walk past the large table toward the back of the room. There lies a corpse missing an arm. The severed arm is on the floor right beside it.

Rotate the object in your inventory and take a closer look at the palm. That’s where the East Wing keycard is hidden.

Got the Keycard, What’s Next?

With the card in hand, you can finally unlock the access door to the East Wing and enter the patient rooms. From this point on, the pace noticeably increases, new enemies, new clues and significantly more pressure await.

Make sure to revisit previously explored areas regularly. Depending on your story progress, certain rooms may change, new enemies can appear or previously locked paths may become accessible.
