Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27 for PC as well as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. While you can jump straight in on consoles, PC players should check in advance whether their hardware is ready for the next trip into zombie chaos. The official system requirements have now been published and they are less demanding than some might have expected.

Minimum Requirements

To launch Resident Evil 9, you will need a 64-bit system running Windows 11. Capcom lists at least an Intel Core i5-8500 or an AMD Ryzen 5 3500 as the minimum processor. When it comes to memory, the studio sets a clear baseline: 16 GB of RAM is required.

The game also stays within solid mid-range territory in terms of graphics hardware. The requirements are:

  • GeForce GTX 1660 with 6 GB or Radeon RX 5500 XT with 8 GB VRAM
  • DirectX 12

If you are aiming for higher settings or more stable performance, the requirements increase moderately. Capcom recommends an Intel Core i7-8700 or an AMD Ryzen 5 5500. The memory requirement remains the same at 16 GB of RAM.

On the graphics side, a GeForce RTX 2060 Super with 8 GB or a Radeon RX 6600 with 8 GB should keep you on the safe side. DirectX 12 is also required here.

  • Note: On PC, Resident Evil Requiem features exclusive path tracing effects as well as DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction for RTX graphics cards.

16 GB RAM as a Possible Hurdle

Processors and graphics cards from 2018 to 2020 can still keep up. For some players, however, memory could become the main obstacle. While 16 GB of RAM is now common, anyone still running 8 GB on PC will likely need to upgrade.

Conclusion: Mid-Range Is Enough, Provided You Have the RAM

Resident Evil Requiem does not require a high-end PC, but it does expect a modern standard. If your system comes with 16 GB of RAM and a solid mid-range GPU from recent years, chances are good that you will be able to jump into the next survival horror chapter at launch without hardware issues.
