In our trophy guide for Avowed, you’ll learn what challenges await you in Obsidian’s fantasy RPG and how to efficiently unlock the Platinum trophy.
In this trophy guide for Avowed, you’ll find out:
- How Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum trophies are distributed
- How many playthroughs you should plan for 100 percent
- Which trophies are missable and what you need to pay special attention to
Avowed recently launched on PlayStation 5 and comes with a wide range of trophies. According to our editor-in-chief Josef, the game is a “handcrafted RPG gem” that focuses on story, exploration, and action-packed combat. The world is divided into four major regions and offers numerous side quests as well as optional decisions. However, this freedom of choice also means that many trophies can be missed. We’ve compiled all trophies for you and provide tips on how to achieve Platinum.
Avowed: The Most Important Trophy Info at a Glance
Avowed features a total of 50 trophies:
- 1 x Platinum
- 2 x Gold
- 11 x Silver
- 36 x Bronze
For 100 percent completion, you should plan around 60 to 80 hours depending on your playstyle. The main story alone takes roughly 25 hours, but with side quests your playtime will already increase to around 60 hours. For Platinum, you’ll need to add a few more hours on top.
- Important: Difficulty matters. You will only earn the Gold trophy “A Test of Your Reflexes” if you complete the game on “Path of the Damned.”
Game Structure and Recommended Strategy
There are two different ways to unlock the Platinum trophy. If you choose the faster route, you’ll have to deal with significantly higher challenges.
One playthrough: Start directly on “Path of the Damned” and consistently make the “evil” choices to also earn the trophy “Tyranny” at the end. You will also need to create manual save files at certain points to reload mutually exclusive decisions.
Two playthroughs (recommended): Play the first run however you like, complete all side quests, and collect every collectible. Then start a second, shorter run on “Story Time” to specifically unlock the alternative ending required for “Tyranny.”
Since Avowed does not return you to the open world after completing the main story, you should finish as much as possible before reaching the point of no return.
Missable Trophies: What to Watch Out For
Many Bronze trophies are tied to specific decisions or dialogue options. Particularly critical are:
- “Tyranny” – requires consistently supporting the Steel Garrote throughout the entire game
- “Fior Extinguisher” – Save a city through specific side quest decisions
- “Allochory” and “Parasitoid” – Two mutually exclusive endgame decisions
- Several dialogue trophies such as “Pants on Fire” (lie 15 times) or “Tired Of Being Nice” (choose violence 10 times)

Difficulty “Path of the Damned”: Tips for the Gold Trophy
The highest difficulty may sound intimidating at first, but it becomes much easier with better gear and abilities. Recommended:
- Collect Totem Fragments early on
- Focus on healers and summoners in combat
- Make use of the pausable action wheel
- Invest in summoning abilities such as the bear companion
- Save regularly
Since enemies have fixed levels, it’s worth revisiting particularly difficult areas later on.
