Pragmata launches this April and puts you in control of two characters at once. We’ve gathered all the important details for you.
With Pragmata, Capcom ventures into a dark vision of the future set on the Moon. In this sci-fi action adventure, you’re not just fighting to survive, but also teaming up with a mysterious android girl to face a hostile AI. We’ve compiled all key information on the release, gameplay, characters and technical details.
Pragmata release: When does the game launch?
After several delays, Pragmata is now officially set to release on April 24, 2026. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam), and Nintendo Switch 2. A Deluxe Edition with additional outfits, music tracks and gestures is also available.
If you want to get an early look at the game systems, you can already download a free gameplay demo called “Sketchbook” on Steam. If you’re mainly interested in the hacking mechanics, you can try out a minigame directly on Capcom’s website.
What is Pragmata about?
The story is set in the near future. Since the discovery of the ore Lunum, humanity has placed great hopes in its potential. From Lunum, a material called Lunafilament was developed – capable of reproducing the form and function of other objects. But when contact with the lunar research station working on further development suddenly breaks off, a dangerous adventure begins.
You take on the role of Hugh Williams, a security specialist sent to the Moon with his team to investigate the situation. After a sudden moonquake, Hugh is separated from his unit, severely injured and left unconscious. He is saved by Diana – an android in the form of a young girl, created using Lunafilament. From that moment on, the two fight side by side against a rogue AI that sees them as intruders and hunts them down with deadly robots.
Who are the main characters?
Hugh Williams is a seasoned security expert who is highly proficient with weapons. After the quake, he is left badly injured but is found and supported by Diana. Despite his rough exterior and sarcasm, he has a genuinely kind heart.
Diana (Model D-I-0336-7) is a so-called Pragmata – an android with the outward appearance of a young girl. Created using Lunafilament, she can hack into systems and the armor of security robots. Diana is curious, capable of learning, and often reacts with childlike wonder to a world that is entirely new to her. She is given her name by Hugh.
How does the gameplay work?
Pragmata is a third-person action game with a unique single-player co-op approach. Hugh handles weapons such as the Grip Gun, performs evasive maneuvers using his spacesuit, and finds new tools like a shockwave rifle or stasis sphere to defend himself against hostile machines.

Diana, on the other hand, takes on tactical tasks. She analyzes enemies and hacks their defense systems. This opens a real-time hacking minigame in which you navigate a matrix to unlock weak points. The more efficiently you use the grid, the more damage you can deal. Later on, additional bonuses such as shield breakers or damage multipliers become available.
A standout feature is the Overdrive Protocol: once the gauge is filled, Diana can unleash a powerful area-of-effect attack that immobilizes multiple enemies at once.
Diana’s hacking skills are also crucial outside of combat. To disable energy barriers or access new areas, you’ll need to solve environmental puzzles and establish connections under time pressure. A scanning system helps you locate your next objective.
What editions and content are available?
In addition to the standard version, Capcom is offering a Deluxe Edition. It includes the base game plus extra outfits for Hugh and Diana (such as “Heavy Lifter” or “Mecha Builder”), new weapon skins, music tracks for the shelter system, as well as exclusive gestures and artwork.
Pre-order bonuses also include special skins in the Neo-Bushido and Neo-Kunoichi styles, inspired by Japan’s Sengoku era.
