Ubisoft has released Update 1.3.2 for Anno 117: Pax Romana, deliberately dialing up the difficulty: enemies attack more often, city incidents hit harder, and the economic margin for error grows thinner.

With Update 1.3.2 for Anno 117: Pax Romana, available since January 29, 2026 at 11 a.m. CET, the base prices of numerous goods have increased. Both buying and selling prices are up, while the consumption of certain goods has been slightly reduced. Particularly aggressive factions such as Neferneru and Concordia now behave more offensively, form alliances more frequently, and declare war more often. Ubisoft aims to inject more momentum into the late game with these changes.

The disaster system has also been overhauled: major events like unrest, fires, and plagues occur more often and demand greater effort—such as evacuating additional citizens or treating more sick residents. Countermeasures are now less effective as well: each action reduces the duration of an incident by just one minute.

Technical fixes and cross-play improvements

The patch also includes a wide range of technical fixes. Crashes triggered by moving aqueducts or loading mods have been addressed, as have cross-play issues between PlayStation 5 and other platforms, faulty keyboard shortcuts, and visual glitches affecting NPC portraits. In the campaign, several broken quest chains and localization errors were corrected as well.

According to Ubisoft, the update responds directly to community feedback calling for more challenge and variety in the later stages of the game. The revised balance should be especially appealing to seasoned Anno players who want to not only build an empire—but defend it, too.
