Embark Studios’ November update expands ARC Raiders with new content — including a mysterious zone, a community event, and two new ARC enemies.
With its first major content update, “North Line,” Embark Studios is giving the popular sci-fi extraction shooter ARC Raiders a free boost — adding a new map, additional enemy types, new gear, and a limited-time community event. But the new region, “Stella Montis,” isn’t easy to reach.
Stella Montis – cold, sterile, dangerous
The new map looks and feels very different from the existing world. Instead of crumbling industrial ruins, players in Stella Montis encounter strangely intact structures with a cold, high-tech vibe. According to Embark, they’re designed to resemble relics from a lost spacefaring era.
Explorers can discover rare materials, new weapons, and hidden blueprints — but only if the community first meets a collective requirement. Access to Stella Montis unlocks through the new community event “Breaking New Ground,” which goes live on November 13 at 10:30 a.m. CET. To help rebuild the tunnel connection to the new zone, players must work together to gather and deliver resources to the “Speranza” faction.
Your contributions earn you Merits — a special event currency that drives overall progress. Once the community hits its goal, Stella Montis will open up and Phase II of the event will begin: “Staking Our Claim,” a limited-time progression track featuring new challenges and rewards.
New Enemies, Gear, and Quests
Two new ARC units bring added tactical variety. The “Matriarch” will appear right when the event launches — even outside Stella Montis — and is said to be the most dangerous ARC enemy yet. The melee-focused “Shredder,” meanwhile, can only be found in Stella Montis.
“North Line” also introduces new equipment and quests, including the “Aphelion Rifle” and a set of gas, pulse, and deadline mines. In addition, new quests themed around Stella Montis will be exclusive to that region.
Looking Ahead to December
According to Embark, North Line marks the start of a longer post-launch roadmap. The next major content drop, “Cold Snap,” is already planned for December and will bring new map conditions and an event called “Flickering Flames.”
