With the launch of “Call of the Beast,” Dying Light: The Beast kicks off an eleven-week event series packed with challenges, rewards, and zombie-slaying chaos. We’ve rounded up all the key details — from event dates and weekly community goals to the exclusive rewards you can earn.

What Is “Call of the Beast”?

“Call of the Beast” is a large-scale community event in Dying Light: The Beast that runs for a total of eleven weeks. Every Thursday at 4 pm CET (7am PT, 8am MT, 9am CT, 10am ET, 4pm BST), a new weekly challenge begins — and the entire player base must work together to meet the global goal. Anyone who contributes will receive exclusive in-game rewards at the end of each week.

According to developer Techland, there’s no need to sign up or register. Simply take part in the week’s challenge — every single action counts. Progress is tracked in real time via the Dying Light Outpost, and once a goal is completed, rewards are automatically added to your in-game inventory.

When Does the Current Event “A Season to Dismember” Start?

The event has been running since October 16, 2025, and will likely continue through mid-December. Each challenge begins every Thursday at 4 p.m. CET and ends exactly one week later at the same time. For Week 1, that means:

  • Start: Thursday, October 16 at 4 pm CET (7am PT, 8am MT, 9am CT, 10am ET, 4pm BST)
  • End: Thursday, October 23 at 4 pm CET (7am PT, 8am MT, 9am CT, 10am ET, 4pm BST)

What’s the Challenge, and What Are the Week 1 Rewards?

The first challenge, “A Season to Dismember,” is exactly what it sounds like. The goal is to work together as a community to sever zombie limbs in Castor Woods. There are two milestone targets:

  • Goal 1: Dismember 30 million limbs – Reward: “Lumberjack” vehicle skin
  • Goal 2: Dismember 60 million limbs – Reward: “Woodchopper” axe

Depending on how far the community gets, you can unlock one or both rewards. To claim them, you must contribute to the weekly goal yourself.

FAQs: Everything You Need to Know About Call of the Beast

What Happens If a Goal Isn’t Met?

If a weekly goal isn’t completed, the rewards for that week are lost for good. Each reward is exclusive to its respective week and cannot be earned later. At the end of the full event, players can also earn a legendary reward by completing at least 17 out of 22 total goals.

How Do I Receive My Rewards?

All earned rewards are automatically added to your in-game stash, usually within about ten minutes of meeting the goal. No manual claim or registration is required.

How Can I Participate?

Participation couldn’t be simpler: just play Dying Light: The Beast and take part in the current week’s challenge — for Week 1, that means dismembering zombies. There’s no minimum playtime or sign-up needed, and you can even jump in midweek as long as the event is still active.
