Gearbox and 2K revealed the post-launch roadmap for Borderlands 4 at PAX Australia. Fans can look forward to new DLCs, free seasonal events, and fresh endgame challenges.
During PAX Australia, Gearbox and 2K Games shared new details about the ongoing development of Borderlands 4. The highlights included the first paid Bounty Pack, a free seasonal mini-event called “Horrors of Kairos”, and a new endgame boss, Bloomreaper the Invincible.
Info about the Bounty Pack
The first Bounty Pack, titled “How Rush Saved Merc Day”, delivers story-driven content in a compact format. In new main missions, players team up with Rush to teach the Minister of Culture of the Timekeepers the true meaning of Merc Day – a festival of giving, celebration, and friendly fire with friends and family. Legendary loot awaits as a reward.
The Bounty Pack also includes a Vault Card featuring 24 cosmetic items and 4 rerollable gear pieces that can be earned repeatedly. Players can look forward to a new vehicle, a fresh Vault Hunter style, and an exclusive ECHO-4 Drone Skin. Bounty Pack 1 is included in the Deluxe and Super Deluxe Editions of the game or can be purchased separately. Three more Bounty Packs are planned.
Mini-Event “Horrors of Kairos”
From October 23 to November 6, players can participate in the free seasonal mini-event “Horrors of Kairos.” Expect eerie weather effects like blood rain as you take on world bosses. New legendary weapons and seasonal cosmetics can be earned through SHiFT codes.
Endgame fans can also look forward to a special challenge later this year: Bloomreaper the Invincible is the first of several free endgame bosses. His title pays homage to the raid bosses from Borderlands 2 – not truly immortal, but with massive health, devastating attacks, and new combat modifiers that will test even veteran Vault Hunters.
Gonna be a graveyard smash 👻💥
During your first free Seasonal Mini-Event event, world boss encounters will change the weather to blood rain and introduce new Legendary loot that can drop from world boss kills.

Extensive Post-Launch Plans for Borderlands 4
The newly revealed content is part of Gearbox and 2K’s post-launch plans for Borderlands 4. Alongside four Bounty Packs — compact yet story-rich missions with rewarding loot — players can expect two major story packs featuring entirely new zones, main and side missions, and additional playable characters for long-term replayability.
The lineup will be complemented by a steady stream of free updates, including Invincible endgame bosses, weekly activities, mini-events, and the return of the highly coveted Pearlescent gear. Endgame improvements have also been implemented in Borderlands 4, including the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode featuring higher difficulty tiers and better loot drops.
