You’ll encounter the duo Saddleback and Immortal Boneface from the Meathead Riders in an optional boss fight in Borderlands 4. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find them, how to efficiently farm their drops, and which tactics make the fight easier to win.

Location and Access

You’ll find Saddleback and Immortal Boneface at a drill site in the Cuspid Climb area at the start of the Terminus Range. This is an optional boss fight. You can enter Ripper Drill Sites once they appear on your map. Head to the area to access the arena and start the battle.

Tactics and Strategy

The key to victory lies in target priority:

  • Immortal Boneface is invulnerable as long as he’s riding on Saddleback. Focus your firepower on Saddleback first.
  • Boneface may occasionally dismount, but his shield regenerates very quickly as long as Saddleback is still alive. Attacking him during this phase usually isn’t worth it, since you’ll still need to take down Saddleback and Boneface will heal back up in the meantime.
  • Positioning: From the arena entrance, move far to the left. There you’ll find an enclosed section with only one access point. This corner makes it harder for enemies to surround you and gives you more control of the fight. However, the spot doesn’t protect you from every attack, and carelessness can still get you killed. The area also contains plenty of containers you can climb onto for mobility.

Always leave some weaker enemies alive so you can quickly second-wind if you get downed. Heavies with shields, however, should be taken out right away.

Drops and Farming

You can repeatedly farm the duo after beating them once. Return to the arena and use Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine near the entrance to trigger another round for some cash.

Here’s how to re-farm them:
