Want to open the Vault of Radix in Borderlands 4? You’ll need three key fragments. Here’s where to find them.
In Borderlands 4, hidden Vaults are once again waiting to be discovered, accessible only with special Vault Keys. For each Vault, you must collect three fragments scattered across large outdoor regions. Once you have them, you can assemble the key, unlock the Vault, and face waves of enemies. As a reward, you’ll receive buffs for your glider along with an increased chance of legendary loot. To save you the search, we’ve compiled the exact locations of the key fragments for the Vault of Radix in Carcadia.
How many Vault Key fragments are there in Borderlands 4?
There are a total of nine key fragments. Each region requires three to craft a full Vault Key, giving you access to three hidden Vaults across the game. When you’re near a fragment, a small radar appears on the right side of the screen. The fuller the bars, the closer you are.
All Vault Key Fragments for the “Vault of Radix” (Carcadia)
Fragment #7: Lopside
- Fragment is located on a table at a gas station.
- Use the grappling hook to reach the roof.

Fragment #8: Tonnage Peel
- Found near a wreck inside a tunnel.
- Use your grappling hook to open a shaft and access it.

Fragment #9: Ruined Sumplands
- Located in the northern section of the area.
- Look for a distinctive wall with golden decorations.

Vault Location and Rewards
The Vault is located northwest of the Order Silo “Rustic Toss.” Use the fast travel point to spawn just a few meters away from the entrance.

Completing all Vaults and assembling their keys grants you the following glider upgrades:
- Vault of Origo (Terminus Expanse): Glider gauge depletes 50% slower.
- Vault of Inceptus (Fadefields): Glider gauge regenerates faster.
- Vault of Radix (Carcadia): Glider gauge starts regenerating more quickly.
