Just like in Borderlands 3, you can once again give the legendary bartender Moxxi a tip – and this little ritual makes a return in Borderlands 4. Handing her a few bucks won’t just earn you Moxxi’s charming reaction, it will also instantly unlock the “Glucose Guardian” trophy. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find Moxxi, how much to tip, and what bonus rewards generous players can expect.

Where to Find Moxxi in Borderlands 4

You’ll encounter Moxxi naturally during the main story. Once you reach the northwestern region “Wastelands of Carcadia,” the mission “Wrath of the Ripper Queen” will lead you into the “Devastated Swamp.” There you’ll come across Moxxi’s bar, “Bottoms Up!” – a classic neon-lit hotspot that’s hard to miss.

From this point on, the bar isn’t just a one-time visit. It becomes a permanent fast travel location, meaning you can drop by anytime to leave a tip or simply say hi.

How Much Should You Tip?

Good news first: to unlock the trophy, you only need to hand over a symbolic $100 – the smallest possible bill to drop into the jar. That’s enough to instantly unlock the “Glucose Guardian” trophy.

However, Borderlands 4 also offers some extra rewards for those willing to spend a bit more:

  • $100 tip: Enough to unlock the trophy
  • $1,000 tip: Acknowledged by Moxxi as a “generous gesture”
  • $1,000 – $30,000 tip: With some luck, Moxxi may hand you a legendary weapon as a bonus, scaled to your current level.

The most common drops include:

  • Sweet Embrace (Shotgun) – often from multiple small $100 donations
  • Cold Shoulder (Assault Rifle) – more likely from generous $1,000+ tips

So you don’t need to drain your whole wallet, but digging a little deeper can definitely pay off if you’re after exclusive gear.

Is the Trophy Missable?

No. Once you’ve unlocked Moxxi’s bar in the game, you can always return. Even after finishing the main campaign, the bar remains a permanent location. So there’s no need to stress – you can grab the trophy anytime at your own pace.

Tips to Get It Done Quickly

  • Save early: Keep a few hundred dollars from the start – that way you can unlock the trophy on your very first visit to the bar.
  • Combine with loot farming: If you’re farming for legendary gear anyway, you can grab the trophy on the side.
  • Cheap and easy: $100 is barely anything, even if you’re low on cash. Use Lost Loot machines to reclaim and sell missed loot, and you’ll have the money in no time.
