In the village of Jova, you’ll need to crack a combination lock in Blacksmith Vitalis’ house. We’ll show you how to open the locked door.
On your search for your father, you’ll eventually reach the village of Jova in Hell is Us. After talking to some soldiers and townsfolk, you’ll come across the forge and your father’s house—only to find it locked. The key is hidden in a tunnel in the swamps north of Jova. First, you’ll have to clear out a group of Hallow Walkers and then speak to Victor Gaz, who’s hiding in a storage room. He’ll hand you the key to the house. But once inside, a coded door in the basement blocks your path. This guide shows you how to solve the number puzzle.
Hell is Us: How to find the numbers for the door code in the blacksmith’s house
The lock in Vitalis’ house requires a six-digit code. The numbers are hidden across three family portraits scattered around the house.
Finding the pictures with the code numbers
Start in the children’s room and pick up the family portrait showing a boy in a small green car. The starting number on the car is part of the code—but the car is so dirty you can’t read it yet.
You’ll uncover the green car’s number once you head down to the basement. There, you’ll find the old toy car with the number 13 painted on it. In the office at the back, as well as in a chest you can open with your necklace, you’ll find two more family portraits. Both clearly show cars with starting numbers: 32 and 17.
The correct combination for the door code in the blacksmith’s house
Now it’s time to put the numbers in the right order. To solve the puzzle, arrange the events on the portraits chronologically: first the pregnant woman with number 32, then the toddler with his mother on a picnic blanket (number 17), and finally the boy in the green car (number 13).
The correct code is: 32 17 13
Behind the door, you’ll find five glyphs. This also unlocks the bronze trophy “Emotional Warfare”, which you earn by collecting at least one glyph from every Limbic Sphere.
