Best Strategy for the Platinum Trophy
To earn Platinum in Metal Gear Solid Delta, it’s best to complete two full playthroughs:
- First run on Very Easy: Focus on collecting all items, unlocking all missable trophies, and completing the food collection. Since there’s no chapter select after the credits, save often. You can create up to 31 manual save slots.
- Second run on Extreme: This is your FOXHOUND playthrough – the ultimate challenge. Thanks to the gear and camo unlocked in your first run, this one will be a bit easier.
Tips for Missable Trophies
It Ain’t Easy Being Green & It’s Duck Season
For these trophies, you must shoot all 64 Kerotans (green frogs) and all 64 GA-KOs (yellow ducks) in the game. Each area contains one Kerotan and one GA-KO.
PEACE WALKER (Gold)
Complete the game without killing anyone. This includes all boss fights – instead of depleting their health, you’ll need to drain their stamina bar. The Mk22 with tranquilizer rounds or the EZ Gun (available from the start on Very Easy) are your best tools.
Important notes:
- You may kill and eat animals
- Check “Records & Titles” regularly to make sure “Humans Killed” stays at 0
- In the motorcycle sequence, you can knock enemies off bikes with non-lethal weapons
- During the Shagohod fight, never hit Volgin with the rocket launcher
Time Paradox (Gold)
Kill Ocelot to create a time paradox. This is only possible during your first encounter with him in the Virtuous Mission. After the cutscene, all soldiers are unconscious – only here can you kill Ocelot. Reload your last save afterwards to continue normally.
Ocelot Always Gets His Man
This trophy unlocks at the very end of the story, after the fight with The Boss. When the President says to Snake: “You are a true patriot,” hold R1 and tilt the left stick left to spot Ocelot in the window.
FOXHOUND Rank: The Ultimate Challenge
The toughest trophy is “FOXHOUND” (Gold). To earn it, you must finish the game under these strict conditions:
- Difficulty: Extreme or higher
- Total playtime: 5 hours or less
- Continues: 0
- Alerts triggered: 0
- Humans killed: 0
- Serious injuries: 20 or fewer
- Total damage taken: 5 life bars or less
- Medical items used: 0
- Banned special items: EZ Gun, Infinity Face Paint, Stealth Camo
