FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

When will Borderlands 4 be released?

Borderlands 4 launches on September 12, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A version for Nintendo Switch or last-gen consoles like PS4 and Xbox One is not planned.

At launch, you’ll be able to choose from four different Vault Hunters, each with unique skill trees, action skills, and specializations. Additional characters may arrive later through DLC.

The game once again offers robust co-op options. Up to four players can team up online, while console players can also enjoy two-player splitscreen. Full crossplay between PC, Xbox, and PlayStation is supported at launch.

The main story will take around 25–30 hours to complete solo. With side quests, co-op play, and endgame activities such as raids or seasonal events, total playtime can easily stretch past 80 hours.

Knowledge of Borderlands 3 or Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands helps, but it’s not required. According to Gearbox, Borderlands 4 is designed so newcomers can jump in without prior experience.
