Find out how much playtime is in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 in this article.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is the sequel to the first game released in 2021 and expands the story with the popular arcs from the anime, including the Entertainment District, the Swordsmith Village, and the Hashira Training. The game was once again developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Sega. But how much time will you need to accompany Tanjiro and his friends on their next adventure?
Demon Slayer 2 Playtime: Here’s how many hours to expect
How much time you spend with Demon Slayer 2 largely depends on whether you focus only on the main story or also explore optional content. The playtime estimates so far come from the community platform HowLongToBeat and provide a good first reference:
- Main story: If you focus on the essential story sections, you should be able to complete Demon Slayer 2 in about 8 hours.
- Main story + extras: If you also take on optional missions, battles, and exploration tasks, the playtime increases to around 21 hours.
- 100% completion: There are no reliable figures yet for a full completion including all optional content, collectibles, and unlockable characters. However, depending on your playstyle, you can expect roughly 10 additional hours.
The new mode “The Path of a Demon Slayer” also adds extra playtime: here you can replay battles from the first game – ideal for those who haven’t played the predecessor or want to refresh their memory.
Extensive content in story mode
In terms of content, Demon Slayer 2 picks up directly where the first game left off. The story mode covers events from the Entertainment District Arc up to the Hashira Training Arc. You’ll play through several chapters featuring faithfully recreated cutscenes. Additionally, there are optional missions that reveal more about side characters, include secret boss battles, and offer new dialogues.
