Mafia: The Old Country is a story-focused action-adventure that takes you to Sicily at the turn of the century. You play as Enzo Favara, an orphan boy who rises from a humble mine worker to a feared mafioso. The game skips an open-world approach in favor of a linear chapter structure with a cinematic presentation.
The gameplay combines classic third-person shootouts with stealth sections and a special focus on knife-based melee combat. You can take down enemies silently, hide bodies, and sneak up on foes tactically. The knife serves as your primary weapon and offers various techniques such as stabs, parries, and evasive maneuvers.
The missions are designed to have you regularly switch between stealth, combat, and cinematic moments. New systems like a reputation mechanic and scarce resources add extra tension.
