Both projects are closely linked and are being developed in parallel. Funding is set to come from a Kickstarter campaign that is live now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All stretch goals listed in the campaign, such as new episodes, multiplayer modes, sandbox expansions, and additional weapons, are planned to benefit both Postal 2 Redux and the VR version. The developers emphasize that both titles will receive equal content treatment. We had no idea how big the interest would be. At some point, we thought: let\u2019s just remake the whole game.\u201d Eric Masher from Flat2VR Studios also stresses that the remake won\u2019t smooth over the original\u2019s rough edges: \u201cWe\u2019re building Redux to keep the broken, chaotic soul of the original \u2014 just louder and more interactive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wpbf-responsive-embed\"><iframe title=\"POSTAL 2 Redux Kickstarter - VR Games Showcase\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pQHQ7rt5CVU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Postal 2 Redux is set to be a complete rebuild using modern technology, not just a simple remaster. The developers promise updated visuals, reworked control systems, dynamic AI, destructible objects, and physics-based gameplay. Iconic elements from the original, such as the grotesquely over-the-top arsenal, will be fully retained and expanded. New traversal mechanics and a reworked inventory system are also planned. The release is targeted for 2026 on PC, Mac, consoles, and Nintendo Switch\u2014assuming the crowdfunding campaign meets its goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Postal 2 VR will be a standalone version designed for VR headsets like Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2, and PC VR. The adaptation is being built specifically for VR: weapons will be manually operated, melee combat will be gesture-based, and the game world will respond dynamically to physical interactions.
