The new Warbond “Exo Experts” brings fresh momentum to one of my favorite games, Helldivers 2. One mech in particular stands out to me and could significantly change my loadout.

In our already published overview of the new Warbond “Exo Experts” in Helldivers 2, we took a closer look at the new content, from weapons to the two Exosuits. It quickly becomes clear that Arrowhead is putting a strong focus on mechanized firepower this time, opening up new playstyles. Now that I have taken a closer look at each option, one impression sticks with me. One of the new mechs has the potential to completely reshape my current setup.

My mech pick from “Exo Experts”

So far, I have mainly used Exosuits in defense missions and in what I like to call “death matches”, situations where waves of enemies keep coming at you and you have around 12 minutes to reach 100 percent. This is exactly where these machines shine. You can take significantly more damage while dealing massive damage at the same time, no matter the enemy type.

Especially in bug missions, I often paired them with a flamethrower, since it lets you control and eliminate multiple enemies at once. The downside is that heavily armored enemies or bots quickly become a problem. That is exactly where the EXO-51 Lumberer could shine.

With its combination of a flamethrower and an anti-tank cannon, it covers both crowd control and heavy targets. In the best case, this Exo could replace my current loadout of Exo plus flamethrower. That would free up a slot for another stratagem. I just hope the cooldown does not increase and stays at around 10 minutes.

EXO-55 Breakthrough offers more safety, but is it enough?

With the EXO-55 Breakthrough, I mainly see the defensive advantage of the ballistic shield. Despite strong armor, I have often been overwhelmed or caught at the wrong moment while my Exo exploded. If the shield really provides noticeably more survivability, it could make a real difference, especially on higher difficulty levels. That said, my first instinct is that I will prefer the Lumberer, simply because it brings more weapons and more damage.

Overall, the new Warbond feels like a clear upgrade for anyone who enjoys using Exos and wants more control and firepower. My saved 1,000 credits will definitely go into this Warbond at the end of April.
