Anca is one of the most important characters in Blood of the Dawnwalker. If you want to romance her, you’ll need to make the right dialogue choices across several quests. This guide shows you which options to pick and what to watch out for.
Anca’s romance spans a total of five quests. Each one features at least one dialogue option you should choose to progress the relationship and win Anca’s affection. In this guide, I’ll walk you through all the key conversations with Anca.
The Prologue: Your First Meeting With Anca
You first meet Anca during the prologue, when the quest “Withering Away” sends you to pick up medicine for your mother. A storm is brewing, and Anca offers to let you stay with her and learn some Latin. Accept her offer and choose the red book to spark the first hint of romance.
- Important: If you stay with Anca, you’ll have less time before the evening Mass. Make sure you don’t miss it, as doing so can trigger events that affect the ending.
Echoes of Silence Bells and Between the Words
After the prologue, the quest “Echoes of Silence Bells” will appear on your map, where you’ll meet Anca again. Complete the quest and always take Anca’s side during conversations. Don’t judge her, and make sure to reassure and support her.

The next quest, “Between the Words,” is particularly important for the romance, as it features two crucial dialogue moments.
During an optional objective, Anca asks you to make her some tea. Head to the fire and prepare it. When you hand it to her, choose the dialogue option “It’s my pleasure.” Then flirt with her and bring up her feelings. Don’t worry if Anca tries to brush the subject aside—you’re still on the right track.
Where Old Devils Lie
After that, you’ll need to wait one day before you can start the quest “Where Old Devils Lie” with Anca. Throughout the quest, keep bringing up Anca and the feelings between you. Don’t skip the optional responses, either, and always treat Anca kindly. When you discover the entrance to the cave, comment on her beautiful smile and admit that you enjoy her company. Then respond with “Yes?”
Stronger Than Achilles
After “Where Old Devils Lie,” the final and most important romance quest begins: “Stronger Than Achilles.” This is where you’ll make the most important choices that determine how the romance plays out.

During the quest, you’ll come across a statue that requires someone to put their hand inside it. You can either do it yourself or ask Anca to do it. Do it yourself. Then choose the dialogue option “Better me than you.”
When you reach the ravine, Anca lets out a frustrated scream. Ask what she means by “everything,” confront her about the lie, and tell her that her time at the monastery is over. Tell her you’d do anything for her and confess your love. Even though nothing else happens for the time being, this confession will become important at the end.
- Note: The choice involving the spring has no effect on the romance. However, you’ll get the best ending for Anca if you let her use the spring and give up the ability you would otherwise receive from it. Don’t worry—it’s not powerful enough to be essential.
The Inn Finale: Confessing Your Love
After the Achilles quest, the romance reaches its conclusion at the inn. Bring up the fact that it’s time to talk about what happened in the ruins. At first, Anca claims there’s nothing between you.
Choose “I beg to differ” and suggest having some fun. Then select “Screw decency, I want you too.” This fully unlocks the romance.
