Some of the most powerful weapons, armor pieces, rings, and amulets in The Blood of Dawnwalker can only be found during specific quests or inside hidden treasure rooms. My guide shows you where to find legendary equipment and which items are especially easy to miss.
If you simply follow the quest markers in The Blood of Dawnwalker, you’ll leave some of the best gear in Vale Sangora behind. Legendary weapons and armor are often hidden in optional quests, tucked away in chests off the beaten path, or locked behind decisions that initially seem to have nothing to do with equipment.
- This guide collects the locations of the legendary items I’ve found so far. I’ll continue expanding the list.
Some of these items are found during longer questlines involving Anca, Lacra, or Xanthe. Save before important decisions and thoroughly search completed quest areas before leaving them behind. To equip medium and heavy armor, you first need to unlock the corresponding Perks in Coen’s skill tree (guide).
The following tables list all stats and properties of the respective legendary equipment, allowing you to compare them directly. This makes it easy to see which item works best for your build. In the sections below, I’ve also explained where to find each item, linked additional guides, and highlighted important properties.

Pieter’s Garb – Legendary Light Chestpiece
You can obtain the legendary light chestpiece Pieter’s Garb during the quest “Buried Past”. The quest revolves around Coen’s father Pieter and Volk. The important part is agreeing to search for Pieter’s old treasure.

As the quest progresses, memories and clues eventually lead you to a buried family cache. Dig up the chest and loot it to find Pieter’s Garb. Make sure to examine the documents and prayer book as well, because the story surrounding Pieter’s past isn’t over yet.
The chestpiece primarily improves Coen’s Human Health and critical hits, making it an excellent choice for a daytime build focused on sword combat.
Runic Enchantment – Legendary Light Chestpiece
You can’t miss the Runic Enchantment during Anca’s personal questline. You automatically receive the legendary light chestpiece during “Stronger Than Achilles” (guide). You get the armor regardless of whether you later let Coen or Anca use the Font of Life or decide to destroy it.

Ancient Greaves
The decision at the end of “Stronger Than Achilles” determines whether you can obtain the Ancient Greaves. Only if you destroy the Font of Life do you have a chance to receive this legendary armor piece. Otherwise, it is lost for good.
Ancient Hero’s Armour – Legendary Heavy Chestpiece
You’ll find Ancient Hero’s Armour during “A Hero’s End” in the ancient ruins beneath Svartrau. The quest continues Father Florin’s story. To obtain the armor, agree to his proposal in the cathedral and visit him afterward. Fight your way through the ruins, defeat the enemies, and take down both bosses.

After the final battle, you’ll find a coffin at the back of the room. Loot it to obtain the legendary heavy chestpiece. Make sure to search the ruins thoroughly in general, as there is even more high-quality equipment hidden there that is easy to overlook.
Ancient Hero’s Vambraces – Legendary Heavy Bracers
You can obtain Ancient Hero’s Vambraces during the Xanthe Court Activity “Xanthe’s Transports: When Two Dogs…”. A few meters southwest along the road from the Drunken Bear Inn in Tantari, you’ll come across a raided transport.

Search the entire area thoroughly and loot both the bodies and the transported goods. The legendary heavy bracers are part of the loot or reward from this activity. Even if Xanthe is already dead, her transports and other Court Activities remain available in the game world.
Isbrand’s Plate – Legendary Medium Chestpiece
You can find Isbrand’s Plate during Lacra’s quest “Hive and Seek” (romance guide). Together with Lacra, the quest takes you through the Kobold caves in search of Isbrand. Near the end, you’ll reach the room where Isbrand is being held. Before leaving the area, make sure to search the chests. One of them contains the legendary medium chestpiece.

This piece of equipment is particularly useful for vampiric builds. Among other things, it increases Coen’s Maximum Vampiric Health, Claw Critical Hit Chance and Damage, and the amount of health restored through Blood Drinking.
Vrakhiric Bracers – Legendary Medium Bracers
You can find the legendary Vrakhiric Bracers during “The Lunar Game” (riddle guide). After defeating Bakir at Lunar Manor, don’t leave the area immediately. Search Bakir’s treasury and loot the chests inside. One of them contains the legendary medium bracers.

Their stats are particularly well suited to Coen’s vampire form. Among other things, they improve Vampiric Health regeneration, reduce Vampiric Ability Cooldown, and increase Claw Damage.
Coat of Darkened Scales – Legendary Heavy Chestpiece
To get this legendary armor, you’ll need the Bandits’ Treasure Map: Rockfalls – Split Rock. Pick up the treasure map at the bandit camp south of Rockfalls, then follow it to the marked search area. Between two large rocks, you’ll find a spot where you can dig. The buried chest contains the legendary heavy Coat of Darkened Scales.

You can find another version of the coat during the Sanzhana quest “Tiny Dancer”. Search the upper floor of the house and open the corresponding chest. The coat increases Coen’s Maximum Vampiric Health and Maximum Stamina, among other things, while also improving Passive Activation Charge Restoration.
Legendary Swords

Erkas’s Sword – Legendary Longsword
Erkas’s Sword is a legendary longsword that is particularly powerful against Supernatural Enemies. You can obtain the weapon during “The Champion of Old”. Follow the quest until you reach Erkas the Repenter and defeat him. Make sure to loot the boss afterward – his sword isn’t automatically added to your inventory.

The longsword increases Damage against Supernatural Enemies as well as Weapon Critical Hit Chance and Weapon Critical Hit Damage. It also increases Coen’s Maximum Human Health.
Durandal – Legendary Longsword
Durandal is one of the legendary swords you can obtain relatively early in the game. The weapon is hidden in the optional quest “The Cursed Chasm”. Head to the collapsed bridge above the chasm and work your way down to the bottom. You’ll have to defeat several enemies and finally an Echo.

Once all enemies are defeated, inspect the wreckage on the ground. Durandal is hidden in the largest pile of debris. Activate Focus Mode if necessary to make the searchable spots easier to identify. The sword reduces Stamina costs for attacks and dodging and is therefore an excellent weapon, especially early in the game.
Imbued Sword of St. Mihai – Legendary Greatsword
To find the most powerful sword in The Blood of Dawnwalker, you need to complete a multi-stage questline that sends you to several hidden locations. I’ve written a detailed guide for it here: The Blood of Dawnwalker: Mihai’s Sword Location – How to Complete “Forge It Anew”.

The Prizewinner – Legendary Shortsword
You don’t have to search a ruin to find the legendary shortsword The Prizewinner. The blacksmith Nareh sells it. You can find the Uriash Hermit in the mountains near Parlita. You also unlock the corresponding merchant options during “Forge It Anew”.

The Prizewinner increases Coen’s Maximum Human Health, Damage against Supernatural Enemies, Weapon Critical Hit Chance, and Weapon Critical Hit Damage. If you’re running a fast human sword build, this weapon is definitely worth considering.
The Vrakhir – Legendary Greatsword
The legendary greatsword The Vrakhir is easy to miss during Lacra’s questline. You reach its location during “The Night of Horrors”. Follow Lacra into the sunken underground ruins and fight your way through the undead. At an intersection or side passage, you’ll find a petrified or dead creature. Search the body thoroughly – the legendary greatsword is lodged there.

Pick up the weapon before continuing with the main objective. The greatsword is particularly useful for vampire builds. Among other things, it increases Maximum Vampiric Health and Damage against Mortals while reducing the health cost and cooldown of Vampiric Abilities.
Legendary Amulets & Rings

Vicho’s Cross – Legendary Amulet
To obtain Vicho’s Cross, you need to complete his questline and make the right decisions. In my quest guide, I’ll take you all the way to the hidden conclusion of Vicho’s story and show you which decisions can earn you the legendary amulet.

Xanthe’s Corrupted Pendant – Legendary Amulet
The Corrupted Pendant is a legendary amulet dropped by Xanthe. You can reach the boss through the regular route by completing her Court Activities. However, you can also defeat Xanthe much earlier (guide). The Corrupted Pendant primarily strengthens Coen’s vampiric side. Among other things, it reduces Vampiric Ability Cooldown and increases Maximum Vampiric Health.
Ring of Quick Strikes – Legendary Ring
In my playthrough, the Ring of Quick Strikes dropped during the boss fight at the end of the “Forge It Anew” questline for Mihai’s Sword. However, the item does not appear to be exclusive to this quest and can also show up at various merchants.
The ring is extremely interesting for aggressive sword builds. Among other things, it increases Weapon Damage, Weapon Critical Hit Damage, Weapon Critical Hit Chance, and Physical Damage Reduction.

Ring of the Night – Legendary Ring
You can obtain the Ring of the Night during Xanthe’s Court Activity “Xanthe’s Transports: Past Glory”. Look for the transport in the southeastern Silts, or south of Sybilla’s territory. The Whispering Bogs Shrine is a useful landmark.

Defeat the enemies guarding the transport and then loot all of the goods. The activity is only completed once you have searched all relevant containers, at which point you receive the legendary ring.
As the name suggests, the ring is an excellent choice for Coen’s vampire form. It increases Maximum Vampiric Health and Blood Drinking Restoration while reducing Vampiric Ability Cooldown.
Astrologer’s Ring – Legendary Ring
You can obtain the legendary Astrologer’s Ring during Marat’s (Crake’s) questline. Inspect the corpse at the end of “Home Sweet Home” and loot the ring.

Legendary Consumables

Phial of Xanthe’s Blood
Don’t confuse the Phial of Xanthe’s Blood with the regular boss reward. You can find it independently of drinking Xanthe’s blood directly after the fight in Svartrau Cathedral. You’ll need access to the treasury. The corresponding key can be found in the bell tower of the cathedral complex. The phial is inside a small golden chest in the upper section of the treasury.

Drinking Xanthe’s blood unlocks the powerful Vampirism Ability Blood Surge. Regular enemies can explode when they die, while the ability deals direct damage to bosses.
Potent Aetheric Attunement
Potent Aetheric Attunement is a legendary consumable, but it isn’t a unique drop. Xanthe can carry the potion, but you can also find it at merchants or craft it yourself. The potent version significantly increases the damage dealt by Witchcraft Abilities.
To craft it, you’ll need:
- 1x Aetheric Essence
- 2x Glob of Likho’s Light
- 1x Psoglav Heart
- 2x Chalcanthum Solution
If you receive the potion after fighting Xanthe, you got lucky – but you don’t necessarily have to defeat the boss just to complete your collection of legendary equipment.
