Silent Hill: Townfall tells its story across several chapters, which are divided into individual sections. You regularly switch between playable characters and experience the events on St. Amelia from different perspectives.

In my progress guide, I’ve listed all chapters and sections in Silent Hill: Townfall and added the approximate playtime from my own playthrough. You can also see how many Strange Postcards and lockboxes you can find in each chapter.

  • Spoiler warning: The names of chapters and sections may reveal minor details about how the story unfolds. I’ll avoid specific story spoilers as much as possible.
  • The listed playtimes can vary significantly depending on how thoroughly you explore, your experience, and how long you need to solve the puzzles. I took my time. You can also finish the game in under 11 hours.
  • Note on chapter numbering: In this overview and my full walkthrough, I divide Silent Hill: Townfall into six main chapters and the sections within them. The game itself refers to them as “Parts” rather than chapters.

Playtime: How Long Is Silent Hill: Townfall?

My first playthrough of Silent Hill: Townfall took me around 18 hours. I took my time exploring and solving the puzzles. Your actual playtime will depend heavily on how thoroughly you explore St. Amelia and how quickly you solve the many puzzles. Completionists will likely need well over 20 hours, especially because of the multiple endings.

Chapter 1: Arrival

“Arrival” serves as the introduction to Silent Hill: Townfall. You take control of Simon and learn some of the game’s most important mechanics. After the Cold Open, the actual exploration of St. Amelia begins. Among other places, you investigate Zoe’s house, search for clues about her whereabouts, and later visit several buildings around Farrow Street and the medical center. The final section in particular already features several more elaborate puzzles.
