In Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, you can find seven blades that give Sophia different advantages in combat. My guide shows you every location and explains how to open the Hero Tombs.
Alongside charms and relics, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy also features several special weapons to discover. In total, you can equip Sophia with seven blades. While you receive the first weapon automatically, some of the others are well hidden.
In this guide, I’ll show you every blade location in the order you can reach them during the campaign.

Unlike many other collectibles, blades aren’t just items to check off a list. Every weapon comes with a unique trait that changes Sophia’s combat style.
Depending on the blade, you can, for example:
- deal additional damage after critical attacks,
- stun enemies more easily,
- refill the Focus gauge by scoring kills,
- inflict damage over time,
- break through shields, or
- strengthen your parries.
Important: In Chapter 5, you can also find the collectible “Ceremonial Blade.” Despite its name, it is not one of the seven playable blades, but a Relic from the Past.
Trophies Connected to the Blades
Most blades are found inside so-called Hero Tombs. To open their entrances, you first need to use the sphere to complete small light or color puzzles. Once you have collected all seven blades, you’ll unlock the Gold Trophy “Looter.”
You also need all of the weapons for the Silver Trophy “Adaptable,” which requires you to kill at least one enemy with every blade.
Important: This also includes Sophia’s first blade, the Rusty Blade. Only the Hero’s Blade DLC weapon can be ignored. That means you need to have used eight blades in total. The easiest approach is to score a kill immediately after finding each new weapon. That way, you won’t have to figure out later which blade you still need a kill with.
All Blades in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
Blade #0: Rusty Blade
The Rusty Blade is Sophia’s default weapon and has no special abilities.
Blade #1: Falchion
Chapter 2: Felons
Objective: Follow the scraps of cloth to the church
You can’t miss the first blade. Make your way through the carnival in Chapter 2 and follow the story until you reach the weapon stash.
There, Sophia automatically receives the Falchion.
Effect – Heavy Blow: After landing a successful critical attack, this blade deals bonus damage.
Blade #2: Kopis
Chapter 4: From hell it rose
Objective: Walk the Path of Trials
After making it past the spike traps, you’ll reach a large bull statue. A pedestal there leads down into a crypt. Inside, you’ll find a sarcophagus containing the Kopis. Since you have to pass through this area as part of the story, the blade is very difficult to miss.
Effect: On the final hit of your combo, Sophia unleashes a powerful strike that deals stun damage.
Blade #3: Greek Sword
Chapter 5: Desolation it wrought
Objective: Find the first symbol
When the puzzle involving the four symbols begins in the main hall, go through the door marked with a circle and three lines. Cross the bridge and follow the path until you reach a looter camp. There, you need to use the sphere to complete a color puzzle and open the large trapdoor leading to the tomb.

Climb the rock wall to the left of the camp and walk over to the left eye symbol (Leni crouches in front of it). From there, the sphere’s reflection can reach all three required points, opening the tomb. Inside, you’ll find the Greek Sword.
Effect: Sophia no longer uses her dagger. Critical attacks are replaced by a spinning strike that damages every nearby enemy.
Tip: The Greek Sword is an excellent choice for the combat trophies “Inherited Brutality” and “Is That Sharp Enough?”
Blade #4: Sica
Chapter 6: What Lies Beneath
Objective: Follow Daedalus’ shortcut
Follow Daedalus’ shortcut. Before the stairs, you’ll find the entrance to a small cave to the left of a lantern. Head inside to reach a large tomb. The tomb itself, however, is locked.

To open it, you need to use Light Revelation to hit three colored points. There are three large pillars on each side of the tomb. You’ll find the correct angle for the sphere on the middle pillar on the right-hand side. Once all three points have been hit, the tomb opens and you can collect the Sica.

Effect: Killing an enemy with this blade partially refills your Focus gauge.
Blade #5: Khopesh
Chapter 7: Death it sowed
Objective: Reach the Black Temple
On the way to the Black Tower, you’ll reach a looter camp where you have to fight several soldiers. After the battle, use the grappling hook to pull down some debris and crawl through a passage. On the other side, you’ll enter an area that resembles an old cemetery.
Keep to the left-hand side. You’ll see the weathered head of a soldier statue. Above it is the entrance to a tomb, which you can recognize by the large axe.

A few yards before the tomb, you’ll find a platform. Stand on it and align the sphere so that you hit the three colored points. This opens the entrance to the tomb. Inside, you’ll find the Khopesh.

Effect: The final hit of a combo inflicts a severe wound on your target that deals damage over time.
Tip: Thanks to its damage-over-time effect, Khopesh is the perfect weapon for boss fights.
Blade #6: Broken Spear
Chapter 9: Night has come
Objective: Follow the lights to the palace
On the way to the palace, Sophia triggers a short cutscene in which the creature petrifies a soldier right in front of her. Immediately afterward, sneak around the corner to the left and continue keeping left until you spot a lantern with a glass dome.

Sprint over to it and smash the dome to light the lantern. From this safe spot, you can already see the tomb with the bull’s head. Sprint toward the entrance.

There are two fixed lanterns in front of the tomb that protect you from the creature. Inside, you’ll finally find the Broken Spear.
Effect: A sprint attack pierces enemy defenses and shields, dealing immediate damage.
Blade #7: Xiphos
Chapter 10: Parallel Paths
Objective: Find a way into the mountain
You’ll find the final blade on the way to the mountain. Eventually, you’ll reach a large clearing filled with palm trees containing an extensive light puzzle with numerous lenses. From the waterfall, keep left. Follow the rock wall until you discover an entrance at the end of the river.

Head inside and you’ll find a grapple point on the next rock wall that lets you climb up. At the top, you’ll reach another tomb.

Before you can open the gate, you first need to smash the clay jars to reveal the third colored point. Then place the sphere in the pedestal. This causes beams of light to strike the eye plates on the surrounding platforms.
Now stand on the far-right platform directly beside the rock wall. From the pedestal, it is roughly at the 2 o’clock position. From here, you can adjust the reflection to the correct angle and open the gate to the Hero Tomb. Inside is the seventh and final blade: the Xiphos.

Effect: Your parries deal increased stun damage. However, Sophia can no longer block while using this blade.
Bonus Blade: Hero’s Blade
You can only get the Hero’s Blade if you own the Heritage DLC Pack. To obtain it, you need to have preordered one of the different editions of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. Although the blade looks different, its abilities are identical to the Falchion. So you aren’t missing out on anything if you don’t have it, and you don’t need it for any trophies.
