The new PlayStation Plus games for May 2026 have been revealed. We take a closer look at all three games and tell you which title excites us the most.
Sony is adding three new games to PlayStation Plus in May. Starting May 5, 2026, you can download the titles and add them to your library. This month’s lineup is pretty varied: sports, tough combat, and an unusual 2D action title. Here’s what you can expect and which game is worth checking out for which type of player.
EA Sports FC 26 (PS5, PS4)
EA Sports FC 26 is the big mainstream title of the month. If you enjoy building your own team or competing online, this one should keep you busy for a long time. In Ultimate Team mode, you create your dream squad and compete in tournaments or weekend events. The live content in particular means there are always new objectives popping up. If you prefer playing offline, you can dive into Career Mode and develop your club across multiple seasons.
The clearer split between “Authentic” and “Competitive” is especially interesting. This lets you adjust the feel of the game more precisely, either closer to a TV broadcast or more focused on fast, direct gameplay. Plus members also get an Icons Pack, giving you a useful head start when building your team.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers (PS5)
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers goes in a completely different direction. Here, you can expect a dark action RPG with a Soulslike structure. You play as a warrior with no memories, fighting her way through a world shaped by chaos. The main appeal is clearly the combat system. Enemies punish mistakes quickly, but that makes every victory feel even better. Step by step, you learn new abilities, collect weapons, and adjust your playstyle. One particularly exciting detail is that you can take over powers from defeated enemies.
The world itself is built with branching paths. You discover shortcuts, find hidden areas, and keep running into new threats. If you like games such as Sekiro or Dark Souls, you should definitely check this one out.
- Personal opinion: Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is the most exciting game in the May lineup for me. The Soulslike was released in July 2025 and has improved noticeably after a rough start, with Steam reviews now looking much more positive as well. I find the combat system with abilities taken from enemies especially interesting. If you enjoy demanding action, this should be the first game you try.
Nine Sols (PS5, PS4)
Nine Sols may look calmer at first glance, but there is a lot going on under the surface. The 2D action platformer puts a strong focus on timing and defensive mechanics. Instead of simply attacking wildly, you progress through clean parries and patience. The fights feel reminiscent of Sekiro, just from a side-scrolling perspective. Enemies attack quickly, so you have to react at the right moment.
On top of that, it offers an unusual world with Asian influences and sci-fi elements. The story is told quietly, but it pulls you in if you give it the time. If you want a challenge but do not need a huge open world, this is a great fit.
