A new term is currently making the rounds in the Palworld community. “Palworld Online” appeared in a trademark filing by Pocketpair and has sparked plenty of discussion ever since.

  • Note: Nothing has been officially announced so far. The current information is based solely on a registered trademark.

What’s behind “Palworld Online”?

Developer studio Pocketpair registered the name “Palworld Online” as a trademark in the US and South Korea at the end of April 2026. A matching logo has also already been filed and visually closely resembles the familiar Palworld design.

Studios securing names early is nothing unusual on its own. However, the addition of “Online” still stands out here, especially because Palworld already supports co-op and dedicated servers.

Where could Palworld go next?

Since its release in early 2024, Palworld has built up a massive player base. At the same time, Pocketpair has already been working on expanding the brand further. Alongside new updates, a mobile version in collaboration with Krafton is also reportedly in development.

That’s exactly why “Palworld Online” is drawing so much attention right now. The name sounds bigger than a regular multiplayer update and could hint that Pocketpair has bigger long-term plans for the universe.

Until the developers officially announce something themselves, though, the trademark filing is all we really have. For now, it’s a waiting game to see whether “Palworld Online” actually becomes a new project or if it simply serves as protection for future content.

My personal opinion on the new trademark

Personally, I don’t think Pocketpair is already working on a completely standalone online spin-off just yet. To me, “Palworld Online” currently feels more like a classic trademark protection move, especially since the studio is actively expanding the brand anyway. Honestly, I don’t really need a full MMO version of Palworld either.

The multiplayer already works pretty well as it is, and that’s where I’d rather see more improvements. Bigger servers, more shared activities or long-term content for existing worlds would probably already be enough for Palworld without having to turn it into a completely separate online game.
