Gothic 1 Remake officially launches on June 5, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. There is no early access for buyers of premium editions. Instead, everyone worldwide starts playing at the same time.
Internationally, the launch times include:
- Central Europe: 7:00 p.m.
- London: 6:00 p.m.
- Los Angeles: 10:00 a.m.
- New York: 1:00 p.m.
- Moscow / Kyiv: 8:00 p.m.
- Tokyo: 2:00 a.m. (June 6)
Review embargo: When can you expect reviews for Gothic 1 Remake?
THQ sent out review copies very late. As a result, you should not expect reviews on launch day that cover the full scope of the game. Major gaming outlets have already pointed out that there will be no pre-release reviews, and we will also only share our impressions on launch day based on the amount of time we have been able to spend with the game by then. Do not expect comprehensive reviews before the second week of June.

Is there a preload for Gothic 1 Remake?
At the moment, there is no officially confirmed preload date. Neither Steam nor the PlayStation or Xbox store pages list a specific time for a pre-download.
On PlayStation 5, there is at least a note about automatic downloads for preorders. The requirement is that the relevant system settings, such as auto-login, are enabled. However, no fixed date has been announced for when this feature will go live.
As things stand, you should assume that you will only be able to download the game at launch.
Gothic 1 Remake download size
We do not yet know the exact download size. On PC, the only confirmed detail is that you should set aside around 60 GB of free storage space. Based on that, we expect the required download to be between 30 and 60 GB. For RPGs of this scope, it is not unusual for a day-one patch to increase the storage requirement further on release day.
PC system requirements
The hardware requirements are relatively demanding and require an SSD.
Minimum requirements:

- 16 GB RAM
- Graphics card with 8 GB VRAM (for example, RTX 2070 or RX 6700 XT)
- 60 GB storage space (SSD required)
Recommended requirements:
- Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
- Intel Core i7-7700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
- 32 GB RAM
- Graphics card with 12 GB VRAM (for example, RTX 3070 Ti or RX 6800 XT)
- 60 GB storage space (NVMe recommended)
