AION 2 has been live for everyone since October 5, and character creation is already locked again on many servers. Here you’ll learn how Founder’s Pack rewards are tied to a server and character, how to end up on the same server as your friends, which of the 22 EU server pairs still accept new characters, and what we know about server transfers starting October 14.
In this AION 2 guide, you’ll learn:
- how Founder’s Pack rewards are bound and what changed with the October 7 patch
- what to consider when choosing a server
- whether there is a German AION 2 server
- which 22 EU server pairs exist and where character creation is locked
- what you can do when character creation is locked
- what we know so far about server transfers
Note: This guide is current as of October 10, 2026; the server list with the lock status was captured on the morning of October 6. I’ve been playing since Advanced Access and have already claimed my Founder’s Pack rewards.

AION 2 Founder’s Pack: Server and Character Binding and the October 7 Change
If you bought a Founder’s Pack, you initially didn’t get the rewards on every character. The Blazing Sun Wings from the €84.99 Ultimate Pack were available to only one character, while the other rewards were limited to one server. A second character on another server got nothing. With the October 7 patch, NC changed that for the cosmetic items, more on that below.

I claimed my rewards without receiving any warning. They were simply there. A second character on the same server shares the skins and pets with the first. The 30-day Special Quai Membership included in the pack is also limited to one server, which I tested myself.
Reward Applied until October 7 to Since the October 7 patch Blazing Sun Wings (Ultimate) only the character that claims them all characters on all servers Skins and Black Dragon Pet all characters on the same server all characters on all servers 30-day Special Quai Membership only the server where you claim it unchanged
On October 3, NC announced that it would remove the binding for the cosmetic items from the Founder’s Packs, and the October 7 patch put that into effect. You can now use skins, titles and other items from your Founder’s Pack on other characters and servers as well. There’s a dedicated Founder’s Pack shop for this: there, you can claim the items from your pack tier that a character doesn’t own yet, free of charge. The shop is open to all characters on all servers until NC announces its closure. NC is responding to feedback from Advanced Access: Many players wanted to play with friends on other servers or level a second class without giving up their skins. The 30-day membership stays tied to the server where you claim it.
According to NC, these items are included:
- Standard: the title “Vanguard of Atreia”
- Deluxe: also the Ascended Daeva armor skin and the Eternal Sun weapon skin
- Ultimate: also the Moonlit Aria armor skin, the Black Dragon companion and the Blazing Sun Wings
The 30-day Special Quai Membership, Daeva’s Campaign Supply Chest and Daeva’s Styling Chest, including their contents, are not part of the change. They remain one-time rewards under the existing rules, so the membership still only applies to the server where you claim it.
My advice: If you haven’t claimed your rewards yet, hold off on the membership and the chests until you know which server and character you want to stick with. Once claimed, you can’t take them back.
Here’s a quick overview of what the three packs included. They were only sold until October 5 at 15:00 UTC. There was only one Founder’s Pack per account, and it only applies to the platform where you bought it, either Steam or PURPLE.
| Pack | Price | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | €21.25 | 5-Day Advanced Access, Daeva’s Campaign Supply Chest (Bound), title “Vanguard of Atreia,” 30-day Special Quai Membership |
| Deluxe | €42.49 | everything in Standard, plus Ascended Daeva (Skin: Set) and a Weapon Skin Chest: Eternal Sun (Bound) |
| Ultimate | €84.99 | everything in Deluxe, plus the Moonlit Aria skin set, Blazing Sun Wings, the Black Dragon Pet, and a Daeva’s Styling Chest (Bound) |
Which Server Should You Choose in AION 2?
First, decide who you want to play with. The Elyos and Asmodians are separate factions, so your friends need to choose the same faction and server. If you play as different factions, you’ll mainly encounter each other as enemies in places such as the Abyss, and only when your servers are currently paired. Steam and PURPLE players share the same servers.
It’s also a good idea to coordinate when you start playing. I began about three hours after Advanced Access opened. I barely had to queue, but character creation was locked on every server except Ereshkigal, which is why I’m playing there as an Asmodian. If you arrive too late, you may find that character creation is locked on the full servers where your friends are already playing. My advice: Check the server list together and create your characters at the same time while the server is still open.
If queues get too long, NC recommends creating your character on one of the recommended servers. And if you don’t end up on the same server as your friends, it’s not a disaster: Dungeons and all other instanced content are cross-server, so you can still play them together.
Is There a German AION 2 Server?
Not officially. AION 2 runs in several regions, including Europe, but NC does not designate any server as German-speaking. You’re not restricted to one region either: According to the information available so far, there is no region lock.
German players are therefore spread across the EU servers and find each other through Legions and Discord groups rather than on one specific server. I play an Asmodian on Ereshkigal. If you’re looking for company, ask in the server chat for a Legion in your language, or agree with your group on a server that still accepts characters before you start.
All EU Servers in AION 2: Elyos and Asmodians
When Advanced Access began, Europe had four server pairs, with one server for the Elyos and one for the Asmodians in each pair, and five more followed by October 2. For the launch on October 5, NC opened 13 additional pairs, nine right at launch and four over the course of the evening. At launch, that brought Europe to 22 server pairs. On October 8, NC opened two more servers, Nathara (Elyos) and Tassin (Asmodian), which aren’t in the table yet. The launch servers carry a “New” tag in the server list, and NC recommends creating new characters there. In the German client, four servers have different names: Tsenka, Zemurru, Baba, and Kochi appear there as Hogalum, Zenqaka, Babalum, and Kochilum. The table uses the English names.
| Elyos | Asmodian | Opened (CEST) | Character creation on October 6 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Siel | Israphel | Start of Advanced Access | both locked |
| Nezekan | Zikel | Start of Advanced Access | both locked |
| Vaizel | Triniel | Start of Advanced Access | both locked |
| Kaisinel | Lumiel | Start of Advanced Access | both locked |
| Yustiel | Marchutan | September 30, 4:40 PM | both locked |
| Ariel | Azphel | September 30, 5:20 PM | Elyos open, Asmodian locked |
| Fregion | Ereshkigal | September 30, 6:18 PM | Elyos open, Asmodian locked |
| Meslamtaeda | Beritra | October 1, 1:10 AM | Elyos open, Asmodian locked |
| Hithanya | Nemon | October 2, 12:00 PM | both open |
| Nania | Hadala | October 5, at launch | Elyos open, Asmodian locked |
| Tahavatha | Ludra | October 5, at launch | both open |
| Luteros | Ulgorn | October 5, at launch | Elyos open, Asmodian locked |
| Phernos | Munin | October 5, at launch | Elyos open, Asmodian locked |
| Daminu | Odar | October 5, at launch | Elyos open, Asmodian locked |
| Kasaka | Zemurru | October 5, at launch | Elyos open, Asmodian locked |
| Bakarma | Kromede | October 5, at launch | both open |
| Tsenka | Quai | October 5, at launch | Elyos open (recommended), Asmodian locked |
| Kochi | Baba | October 5, at launch | Elyos open, Asmodian locked |
| Ishtar | Fafnir | October 5, evening | both open (Elyos recommended) |
| Tiamat | Indnath | October 5, evening | both open |
| Gauss | Agnita | October 5, evening | both open |
| Lamuatan | Atiel | October 5, evening | both open |
These pairings matter when fighting the opposing faction: Each Elyos server is paired with an Asmodian server for a limited time. In the Abyss and Spacetime Rifts, the opposing players you encounter come exclusively from your matched server. NC regularly adjusts the pairings to keep the factions balanced.
Some server names are also used in other regions. Siel and Israphel, for example, are available in North America, Latin America, and Asia as well. The table above applies specifically to Europe.
On the morning of October 6, character creation was locked on 15 of the 22 Asmodian servers, including eight of the nine Advanced Access servers. Only Ludra, Kromede, Fafnir, Indnath, Agnita, Atiel, and Nemon were open. The Elyos side was far more relaxed: Only Siel, Nezekan, Vaizel, Kaisinel, and Yustiel were locked, all 13 new servers accepted characters, and the game marked Tsenka and Ishtar as recommended. The game displays server population with a colored dot across three levels: Good, Full, and Overcrowded. All 44 servers showed Good. The lock status changes constantly; the server selection in the game always shows the current state.

Character Creation Restricted: What You Can Do
When a server shows “Creation Restricted,” it won’t accept new characters for the time being. Existing characters are not affected, and you can log in as usual. The restriction depends on server population: On October 2, Ereshkigal was the only open Asmodian server, and since launch it has been closed as well. From what I’ve seen, restricted servers open up again after a few days. Until then, you have these options:
- Another server of the same faction: On the Asmodian side, Ludra, Kromede, Fafnir, Indnath, Agnita, Atiel, and Nemon were still accepting characters on October 6. Dungeons and all other instanced content are cross-server anyway, so you can still play them with your friends.
- Play Elyos: There, 17 of 22 servers were open. Our article Elyos or Asmodian explains what sets the two sides apart.
- Wait it out: Check the server list again after a few days. The red notice disappears as soon as NC lifts the restriction.
- Temporary character: If you create a character on an open server to bridge the wait, you can get rid of it faster later. Since October 5, you can delete characters from level 1, and the waiting period has dropped from seven days to 24 hours.
- Wait for transfers: From October 21 to 28, characters on launch servers can move to other launch servers or to Advanced Access servers of the same faction; the rules are covered in the next section.
Server Transfers in AION 2: What We Know So Far
Server transfers are available in AION 2 from October 14, after the maintenance. NC has now published the rules:
- You can only move within the same region and faction.
- The transfer costs 0 Quna. If you need extra character slots on the target server, each one costs 1,000 Quna.
- From October 14 to 21, characters on Advanced Access servers can move to other Advanced Access servers. From October 21 to 28, characters on launch servers can move to other launch servers or to Advanced Access servers.
Each account gets one transfer round, and you can take several characters with you. Your character needs to be at least level 10, has to be in a village and can’t be in a Legion. Character storage and Kina move with you, but the contents of your Server Storage don’t. Pass progress and dungeon reward limits carry over.
Good luck choosing your server, and make sure to coordinate with your friends beforehand!
