The Blood of Dawnwalker

The Blood of Dawnwalker takes you to a dark 14th-century Europe, where plague and war have weakened humanity – and vampires are seizing the opportunity to openly grasp for power. You play as Coen, a young man who is neither fully human nor fully vampire. During the day he fights with sword and magic, while at night his vampiric powers awaken. His goal: to free his own family from the clutches of the powerful vampire Brencis – in exactly 30 in-game days. Behind the game is Rebel Wolves, a studio co-founded by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the Game Director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Despite this connection, the game is a completely new IP with no ties to the Witcher franchise.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

What is the deal with the 30-day time limit?

The time limit is not a classic countdown that leads to a game over. Instead, it works like a limited budget: certain decisions and activities consume time, while freely exploring the world does not advance the clock. The game marks time-sensitive actions with an hourglass symbol. If the deadline runs out, it has consequences for the story – but the game does not simply end.

No. This is explicitly part of the design. Quests and events compete for Coen’s limited time, characters react to his actions or inactions, and some things develop without him. Rebel Wolves emphasizes that you cannot help everyone. Multiple playthroughs will therefore likely result in very different stories.

Quite a lot. During the day, Coen is human and uses swordplay along with ritual magic. At night, vampiric abilities become available, including supernatural movement and altered perception. NPCs, quest progressions and solutions can also differ depending on the time of day. Rebel Wolves describes day and night as almost two separate gameplay loops.

No. Coen is a fixed protagonist with his own biography, similar to Geralt in The Witcher. What you can adjust are his abilities, equipment and – most importantly – his behavior through your decisions.

No. At night, Coen has a blood thirst that you need to keep an eye on. When feeding, you can choose whether to leave the victim merely unconscious or drain them completely. Animals can also serve as an alternative blood source. Ignoring the hunger entirely risks losing control of Coen in certain situations.
