Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. We show you which editions are available, what’s included, and whether the pricier version is worth the extra cash.
Since midnight on June 25, 2026, players have been able to officially pre-order GTA VI. Two editions will be available at launch. A possible physical Collector’s Edition has not been confirmed yet, and anyone playing on PC, PS4, or Xbox One is out of luck for now. At launch, GTA VI will only be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. I’ll walk you through the editions and help you figure out which one is the right choice for you.
Info on Pre-Order Bonuses and Physical Editions
Anyone who pre-orders any digital version by November 20, 2026, will also get the Vintage Vice City Pack. The nostalgia bundle includes a classic sports car, the 1955 Vapid Stanier Limousine, retro outfits and hairstyles for both main characters, an ’80s-style weapon skin, and a garage in Ocean Beach. You also get one free month of GTA+, Rockstar’s online subscription service.
Important for boxed-copy buyers: The physical version does not include a disc, but a download code instead. If you bought a disc drive for your PS5 specifically for this, you’re out of luck.
GTA VI Standard Edition: What’s Included?
The Standard Edition costs $79.99 and includes the full single-player experience centered on Jason and Lucia in a new version of Vice City. And honestly, that’s all it needs to do.
GTA VI Ultimate Edition: $20 More — But For What?
For $99.99, you get everything in the Standard Edition, including the pre-order bonuses, plus a digital upgrade pack. And it’s actually pretty packed. It includes several exclusive vehicles, weapons with custom designs, clothing, and tattoos for Jason and Lucia.
On top of that, you get garage properties such as the Shore Court Garage and Paradise Garage, tuning shops, a hair salon, a tattoo studio, and access to the PTT-YOUNGIN$ headquarters. There’s also an exclusive special mission called “Classic Car Collection,” where you track down cars in need of restoration and fix them up.

That’s a lot of stuff, but most of it is cosmetic and optional. Whether that’s worth $20 to you depends on how much time you plan to spend tuning vehicles, building out garages, and customizing outfits. One more thing: You don’t get all of these bonuses at once. They unlock as you progress through the game.
Collector’s Edition: Not Happening, At Least for Now
Rockstar has not announced a collector’s edition with physical extras such as statues or art books. Earlier GTA releases occasionally had that kind of thing, but for now, it’s pure speculation. If that changes, you’ll find out here.
GTA VI: When Does Preload Start?
Preload for digital pre-orders begins on November 12, 2026, one week before release. The game then goes live on November 19. When pre-ordering, make sure you only use official stores. Any offers circulating before June 25 are very likely to be shady.
Which Edition Should I Buy?
If you’re buying GTA VI for the story and open world, the Standard Edition is more than enough. Both versions include the pre-order bonus, and you’re unlikely to miss the Ultimate Edition’s extra cosmetic items much as you play.
The Ultimate Edition is for players who want to fill every garage and style every character down to the last detail from minute one. For $20 more, you do get a decent amount of content, but none of it is anything you actually need.
What bothers me personally: The free month of GTA+ sounds like a nice bonus, but mostly it’s a hook. The subscription renews automatically and becomes paid unless you actively cancel it. If you only want to try it, set a calendar reminder right away. Subscription providers count on customers forgetting exactly that with these kinds of free offers. Worse still, Rockstar is putting playable Ultimate Edition content behind a paywall. You have to pay $20 more if you want to play the “Classic Car Collection” missions. Don’t let that sway you. GTA VI will offer plenty of great content, and the Standard Edition already costs enough. The extra car-collecting content definitely isn’t worth the upcharge.
